He has a process down building teams via the portal that’s working. He has a path now to the playoffs. Why change to a new formula.
He has job security. Something that is hard to come by in coaching.
He saw Coach O get fired one year after winning a championship. That has to give someone pause.
Only reason to change I suppose is if you are looking to shake it up for a new challenge, but it seems like he could be back at FAU in 3 years.

Who knows what goes on in his mind, but I don't personally believe building through the portal every year is sustainable

Probably wants to win a natty and lsu has more fertile recruiting?

I don’t think they want him anymore

You can't count on favorable schedules every year.

He can use the same formula at a school that also has elite players that commit to LSU even when there isn’t a coach. So much more easily sustainable than hoping to win bids on players at crucial positions every year.

I see this a lot… and disagree to an extent… sure you can get those homegrown guys, but with NIL this isn’t as important as it used to be otherwise Ole Miss wouldn’t be setting where they are. LK knows this.

If you can’t answer this question then you don’t realize what LSU has to offer. When LSU gets the right guy in charge, they will be annual playoff/ national champion contenders. See OSU, UGA, Bama. So what if Ole Miss is going to make a 12 team playoff, so did Boise State last year. He knows this team isn’t going to win it all, and ultimately that is his goal. He wants the resources, the home field advantage, the prime time games, the easy access to the highest NFL talent per capita in the country, and the brand recognition.
Baylor was a more successful program than Texas in the early 2010s before the Art Briles scandal. That didn’t make Baylor a better job than Texas.
That is why Kiffin wants to come to LSU.

Money and recruiting
He can get paid more money and apparently LSU can still out recruit ole miss.

LSU has nothing to offer except diseases, sweat, and good food

That's the best answer. It would appear that he believes that he can't get the horses at OM to get there.

By an AD who didn't hire him, whose ego wouldn't allow him to not try to make his legacy by hiring his own coach to win a NC.
Orgeron was not Woody's guy, just like Wade wasn't, so they both had to go.
