Reminds me so much of Lincoln Riley smoke to LSU. Why do I have a feeling it’s going to be a team that no one expects? Kiffin to Texas? Maybe it’s going to be his masterclass troll of all time and he stays at Ole Miss?

If Kiffin had offers from everyone (no idea if that's true), the order of job preference would be (I think).

1 - Texas
2 - Florida
3 - LSU

Texas has money and recruiting grounds. It's a top 5 job.

Florida has top recruiting grounds but trails behind Texas in money (both with boosters for NIL and the school itself for facilities and such).

LSU is a great program with good recruiting, but is showing some money problems with Kelly on the way out and frankly has unreasonable expectations. Kelly got fired after going 10-4, 10-3, 9-4 and was in a season at 5-3. Coaches are going to downgrade the job if that gets you fired... nobody should get canned mid-season at that level of performance.

Maybe I’m just an old, but I just don’t get this.

In sports, I want to be entertained by the product on the field and the issues around that.

Some self-absorbed manchild playing with and using the emotions of players and a fanbase that get nothing out of it and give him all kinds of support and loyalty is not “entertaining” to me.

If this were a case of it being the only path for him to double his pay, maybe I could get there. He’s going to be paid no matter what, but he’s just jerking these people around for his jollies.

It’s low character, the same as he’s always been.

Florida fired McElwain and Mullen both within 3-4 years, both having 10 win seasons and both having won the division at least once. They haven’t had a coach last more than 4 years since Urban Meyer was there. That’s 4 straight coaches who haven’t lasted more than 4 years, with 2/4 not making it past year 3

I’ve been saying for a while that he should hold off another year because Texas or Bama might come open if neither team improves.

That's not why Kelly was fired.

Why do you crazies think Bama is heaven for every coach.

Deboer seems to want out and before Saban how many coaches turned them down.

Why do you think Florida is a better job than Ole Miss?

Bama had been where Auburn is for the 10 years prior to Saban. They got tired of losing and paid him 4m a year (which was by far the highest paid coach at the time). And look how it turned out.

I really hope this is the collective mindset at AU right now and have someone better than Sumerall on deck

Because it's pretty well known that's the job Lane wants.

What is the alternative? Buy into all of this as if it’s affects me directly or I have some ownership in it? Should I wring my hands and knash my teeth on whether or not LSU gets the head football coach they are hoping for? lol, watching grown arse men fall all over themselves over this shite is almost worth the price of tickets and a parking pass.
