Sumrall seems to be the consensus, but he hasn't been a HC for very long.

We are much more attractive than 6 years ago.

It is a shining light here that for once, it doesn’t feel like we’re looking for a coach when we are literally in a dumpster. We have great infrastructure and alignment with decision makers.

And apparently coming here means you get to go to a larger school and still coach for us for a week, which shows how non-toxic of a work environment we have. :)

Ed Orgeron or bust.

I think y'all should make a hard pass at Brent Key tbh. I think he would be tough to pull away from GT, but I think that would be a slam dunk if you could.

I don’t think he’s a bad coach but I’m not sold on him. Yeah GT is doing better than expected but how much of that is because of King? Plus I’m pretty sure Key played at GT so idk if he’d want to leave

Sumrall is a solid easy choice and sounds like he’s waiting for the Kiffin drama to play out for a reason.

If bama really is dumb enough to kick Kalen Deboer to the curb I’d make the call there to check his interest.

After those 2 IDK

Sumrall modeled his Tulane recruiting after Lane so we could end up kind of rolling alone. We would just need a slam dunk OC.

Yeah that would be the key. No idea if Joe Judge has learned enough to be promoted? If not, just go grab the OC at Georgia Tech or see if we can't poach the OC from Indiana

Yeah, not sure I want Sumrall’s offensive coordinator. He was Chad Morris‘s offensive coordinator at Arkansas.

He won’t have to scrape the bottom of the coordinator barrel when he comes here.

Honestly feeling better about the situation. Not having a child run the program anymore while maintaining a solid assistant coaching pool and NIL.

LSU is about to pay $90M for Charlie Weiss at OC and Chris Kiffin at DC.
It’s going to blow up spectacularly.

I don’t want Sumrall, I know he’s modeled his program management after Kiffin and is better equipped to handle the modern era than someone, like say, …..Mark Stoops, but that feels like a Mark Stoops type hire minus the great DC pedigree and I just can’t get behind that. We’d be completely at the hands of the OC market and those guys always move up after the first year or two of success. I want an offensive coach that will retain Pete.
