Playoffs? Not really

My premise is that until we have a true NFL type playoff system, the committee is just another form of corporate corruption with the conferences and the networks.
No way OSU and Indiana are the two best teams. No way Indiana beats Georgia at neutral site. Georgia wins by 2 TD’s easily.
So, I don’t care anymore whether Bama makes this so called Playoff or not.
Win the SEC championship and to me Bama is the National Champ.
Thoughts?

This is asinine.
1. The NFL playoff system rewards teams with the fewest losses. Indiana and OSU have 0 losses. So your point about best teams is self contradictory.
2. The BCS formula puts Ohio state at 1 and Indiana at 2. All the whining about the committee is manufactured outrage. Minus a few minor adjustments (1-2 spot slides here and there) the committee is ranking teams the same way as the BCS formula was.

So they'll beat them then.

Just like UGA beat ND by 2 TD’s last year. Bama’s run is over and now you have a 2nd tier coach and a 2nd tier QB. The end of an empire is always fascinating to watch. We saw it with Miami a few decades ago, we saw it with FSU a decade ago, we are seeing it in live time with Clemson and Bama. UGA better hope Kirby doesn’t decide to go fishing anytime soon.

Oh can’t wait for Atlanta to whip your arse. Oh! You got to beat Texas first?think you can beat Texas Mr. Aggie ? I don’t

Indiana is ahead of Georgia in all the polls and would likely be seeded higher in an NFL-style playoff.

99% of the remaining Bama fans out there do. It is also a pretty definitive path to get to the playoffs actually. All we need to do is win out. The players/coaches/fans know what is on the line here. You lose at Auburn you are missing the playoffs again. This Be A Champion motto will be tested come Iron Bowl day. How bad do you want it?
Honestly it actually makes a lot more sense to get behind the playoffs then the SEC Campionship game. I could give a shite about that game now. Sure if you make it in you want to win it but I wish we could skip it and just dial in for a playoff run plus a loss puts us at 3 and then the debate will flair up that they are putting a 3 loss team in the playoff.

Hahaha good luck with Auburn. You can call me Dub. Mr. Aggie was my father.
Gotta love how I laid out actual counters to your silly OP and you respond with elementary school levels of trash talk with nothing to backup your original stance.

Since college football transitioned from student athletes to smi pro then let's play 17 regular games just like the pros.
Stop pussy footing around take SEC, big and what ever big teams that remain and have north and South divisions.
We as fans of our university wants the absolute best for our perpective schools none of us will be happy until theirs a clear path to a true champion.

There are 14 teams who make the playoffs in the NFL. 7 from AFC and 7 from NFC. 4 Division winners and three wildcard per conference. Yes based on best record.
Each conference gets 6 teams in Playoff based on conference record with non power group getting 6 in by selection committee .
Selection committee seeds teams like NCAA tourney.
Have 8 Regionals of 4 teams. Conference games replaced by new format
Rd 2. 16 teams play at higher ranked teams place one week later before Christmas.
Rd 3. 8 teams play two weeks later New Year’s Day at traditional bowl venues.
Rd 4. 4 teams play one week later around Jan 7-10th or so.
Natty. 10 days later around Jan 17 or so.
Now we’d have a TRUE Champ
Tv ratings thru roof.
Fan interest off the charts
Positive. Intersectional games, Texas vs Ohio State won’t matter in making playoff. Teams will schedule to make money.

People joke about the SEC being "down", but the conference is down compared to where it was a few years ago. We are still the best conference top to bottom by a decent margin, but we have not had the singular best team for a couple years now.
For comparison:
2018: the average SEC team had a SP+ of 18.6. Alabama had a SP+ of 36.3, UGA had a SP+ of 32.9
2025: average SEC had team has a SP+ of 13.9. Alabama has a SP+ of 19.9 and UGA has a SP+ of 22.4
Meanwhile in for the B1G:
2018: average B1G team had SP+ of 7.8, OSU had a SP+ of 24.1
2025: average B1G team has a SP+ of 10.1, OSU has a SP+ of 31.4 and Indiana has a SP+ of 30
OSU and Indiana are probably the 2 best teams in the country this year, the nice part of the playoffs is we will find out for sure on the field a month from now

So Miami beats Philly in regular season but Philly wins the Super Bowl? What does that make Miami?
