It might make some sense to just hand the reigns over to Weis. He’s probably learned plenty from Lane. I actually wouldn’t be shocked if Weiss is HC at Ole Miss for at least the next two years, especially with all the current vacancies.

Ole Miss is in a great position to hire who they want. In the past they would be behind Auburn for sure and Arky maybe in the pecking order, but given where Lane is leaving the program I think they are much more attractive than either of those two openings.

Joe Judge would be given the interim role for the playoffs. Weiss would have full control over the offense, Pete over the defense. Depending on how that goes would like play a role in whether Joe is considered for the full time role or not. If it is Joe full time, we likely keep both coordinators and most of the roster.

Judge coaches the playoffs and keeps the rest of the staff in place.

Sumrall would be the first call to take over for next year.

Unless Auburn hires him first. Which is why I think we force Lane to make a decision around the Egg Bowl (within a couple days after) because we don't want to be in a situation where our top choices have already accepted other jobs

For the sake of continuity, Ole Miss will make Charlie Weiss Jr their next head coach.

He 100% won't be our next HC. If it's internal it'll be Joe Judge

Am I the only one who thinks Lane is waaaay overrated and this is not the big splashy rub-it-in-your-face hire that many think it is?

As bad as the LSU situation presently is, I’m loving watching you Rebel fans sweat through your daily self affirmations posts.
