Alabama can't win anything much - their rushing offense will kill them

If you can't run the ball you're done.

We're gonna have to rely on our defense heavily this weekend IMO.

Definitely taking the under in this one.

What about those 'air-raid' programs in the Pac-12.... err Big 28 or the Little 12 who were/ are known for their passing offenses?
The big argument against them was simply not having a defense.

I acknowledge the issues but I am not going into a game with a defeatist attitude, we’re going to win Saturday. I’m going to believe that until the clock is at zero.
But this of course is a huge topic of discussion on the Alabama board. I keep saying the issues are that we don’t have any really elite backs and, above all, we don’t have the kind of offensive line that DeBoer and Grubb need to do their stuff, their OL criteria is 180 degrees removed from Saban’s.
Their stuff actually isn’t pass dominant. In 2023, if you take away Penick’s 11 sacks they ran the ball for four more plays than they threw it, 380 to 376, and they had a 1,200-yard rusher on the team. The running game is an essential part of their stuff, but their scheme depends on quickness rather than bulk in the OL.
People are saying they ought to change what they do because of the personnel, but we hired them to do what they do, not to do what Saban did. Is it really fair to ask them to throw out their playbook just because they inherited another man with different ideas’ roster?
There was always going to be a transition time and we’re still in the middle of that transition, but because we could’ve played for the big trophy last year if we weren’t hamstrung by our QB and the staff still getting used to the proposition that there are no down weeks ever in the SEC, and we have a shot at playing for the big trophy this year even though we can’t run the ball for caca, people are impatient and looking for an immediate fix when the only fix is all Saban’s players being gone and all of DeBoer’s and Grunb’s players being in.

Not gonna lie, I'm a bit nervous for this one. Pretty bad matchup for Bama offensively.

Jam Miller is unlucky with injuries.
#4 seems good to me.
I’ve seen bad offensive line play. Please send your 5 south and east.

We’ve lost 1 home game since 2019 so there is a baseline level of comfort in that. However, we know it’ll be a war and a few small plays here and there could swing things.
Should be an old school fist fight.

Does Simpson not pull the ball and run at all? Mateer is pretty good at that.

Lost to Texas at home in 2023. But yeah, only a couple home losses going back to 2015. So a lot of comfort from that standpoint. Will be an absolute tough game for sure though.

You have an NFL QB and three NFL WRs. I think you'll be fine.

I had Bama winning before season and haven’t changed my mind. So many subplots in this game. Bama made this their Homecoming game for a reason, to help motivate players after last year.
I can find reasons to pick either team but home field gives edge to Bama.
Injury reports come out tonight will tell us a lot.
It’s a must win for OU because some of our other opponents have fallen since pre season rankings had us playing a harder schedule. LSU falling off the cliff would not give us a last game bump, so Bama is a must win to make playoffs for OU.

NOTHING about Ou scares me in this matchup.... I don't get where the hype for the sooners as a major threat to Bama is coming from... Mateer is mobile so was Aguilar, Pavia, Pribula and Uga QB... Aguilar had plenty of time to throw against Ou defense.. he turned it over on a couple of really dumb throws... just like against us...
1. you don't want to be the team on Bama's radar.. our revenge, payback record is outstanding. DeBoer's teams are only bad when they overlook the opponent.. They won't be overlooking Ou.
2. Bama's defense has been top 10 in pressuring and getting to the QB in the last 3 games..
3. TY Simpson doesn't turn the ball over..
4. Not on Saban field Bro we don't lose SEC games at home.

We could win this game or we could lose it. That's all I can say about it. Should be a good game. I have a lot of respect for the Sooners and their fanbase.
