Could determine

Their playoff position should they win the ACC

And could possibly impact your playoff chances

Have the stakes in this game ever been so high?

Georgia tech has no chance . If Georgia tech wins then the SEC reputation as a whole would be questioned .

How would Tech's game against Georgia affect their standings in the ACC?

Expanded playoffs make certain games now mean more, because this game would not have had the same implications 3 years ago.

They had a few big games in the 2010s and 2000s and 2-3 in the 90s. Lots in the 50s and 60s.

If UGA were to lose to Texas then suddenly this becomes one of the biggest plain old-fashioned hate games ever as it could be a loser leaves town match.

Basically the only comparison would have been back in the multiple champion bowl game deciding national title games and both teams won national titles under that system and played one another and the team that went on to win a natty probably doesn't if they lost good old fashioned hate so it is basically the same difference. First round playoff games are bowl games held on campus...that is all the game will determine. Tech makes the playoff if they win or lose against UGA if they win the ACC and if UGA beats either Texas or Tech, giving Charlotte in between is not a loss, UGA makes the playoff. Long story short the stakes have been this high in good old fashioned hate. Tech most likely loses by a couple of scores to UGA though...if you ain't Alabama beating UGA is a tall task..GT missed their once every 10 seaason shot last year most likely.

Yep, it’s gonna be a tough one to win my Tech. But that’s why they play the games. I’m hoping we learned a lot regarding strategy in our loss. Can’t settle for goals and a lot of going for it on 4th, Gonna be a fun one which is what makes college football great. Neither team is winning the Natty so just enjoy watching the games.

Haynes King gave our defense hell last year. QBs that can scramble always seem to give us headaches. I'm expecting a very tough game.
