It's a smorgasbord of potential receipts.

Did you keep the receipt for hiring Kelly? Maybe you can return him instead of firing him for cause

Probably too late, LSU damaged those goods.

Seems like a similar problem Brian Kelly is having right now. He's got potential receipts coming, but LSU ain't turning them into real receipts.

You gotta admit it’s wildly entertaining.

It’s like Jimbo X 1000

Interesting parallel. aTm paid a much bigger buyout, but God knows they have a lot more money. Then aTm went out and made a great hire so it was the right decision in retrospect. They didn’t have the governor get involved or have a weird AD situation.

It was super embarrassing for aTm at the time but holy shite, this situation takes the King Cake, baby and all

Paid it, it was in the news cycle for about 3- 4 days, but it was clean. Texas A&M lived up to its end of the guarantee.

No whining about a settlement. No contrived morality clause bullshite for cause. Just paid and moved the frick on.

This whole mess will blow over. LSU needed a reset anyway.

And they will be back before you know it.

At the time no one could know for sure if Elko was a great hire or not, but one thing is for sure: by fulfilled their duties A&M was in a position to draft a contract with the new guy that was much more favorable to their interests than the last one - lesson learned. LSU may also somehow pull a rabbit out of their hat on the next hire, but whoever it is would be insane to not enter those talks with a highly aggressive posture, particularly regarding buyouts.

its not embarrassing for LSU, its embarrassing for the state. Unless they hire an absolute home run coach, which seems more and more like a pipe dream, this went from a 1-2 year rebuild to a 5-6 year rebuild. The LSU brand is taking a nosedive right now and somebody has to stop it. Who? Landry? HAHAHAHAA. Ausberry? HAHAHASHSSHSH. Scott Ballard? He is more responsible for this shite than anybody.

William Tate is the one looking over his shoulder smiling at this clown show.

We haven’t really even delved into all the receipts that LSU fans signed over the summer and even into September guaranteeing:

-a Kelly national championship at some point
-a playoff spot for LSU this year
-Nuss winning the Heisman
-LSU beating Alabama
-LSU beating Ole Miss
-LSU beating Texas A&M
-Ty Simpson sucking
-Ty Simpson being benched
-Alabama sucking
-Alabama not even being in contention for the playoffs
-Ole Miss not even being in contention for the playoffs
-Texas A&M never being in contention for anything
-Brian Kelly having a longer tenure at LSU than Kalen Deboer at Alabama
-Brian Kelly having a longer tenure at LSU than Mike Elko at Texas A&M
-the LSU AD is great, look at baseball and women’s basketball
-Georgia beating the Crimson out of Alabama
-Chicken Tendie Man paying Brian Kelly’s buyout.

Maybe we should address all those signed receipts before we start with your list.

You’re right. LSU is not going to sit there and wither away. But, I think they are going to have to endure a bad hire or two after this debacle. Maybe they’ll get lucky & find the next Nick Saban. He’s out there somewhere, grinding away at a lower school or coordinator position.

if it wasn't for sweet lord baby Jesus blessing this underserving university with our blessed redeemer Joseph Burrow the Merciful, we would be riding a 9 year wave of bad coaching hires. What's another decade.

Not since the days of Penn and Princeton dominating football has there been someone dominate football in that fashion. There isn’t another Saban out there. There could be another Urban or Kirby but even those guys are incredibly rare and usually smart enough not to work for shitshow programs, which this one currently is.
