I am grateful for this boring, relatively non-injury-filled game where the D was the boss

Bama showed nothing - kinda vanilla.

Let’s move on to Oklahoma.

I am not sure the current fanbase could survive the 2008 and 2009 offense.

Man, some of those 2008 games were more like these than people care to remember. People remember that season for the Clemson, UGA, and Auburn beatdowns. Fair, those are my "its July and I want to see some old highlights" go-to choices too.

I think we followed up that memorable Clemson beatdown in the Atlanta opener with a sloppy 20-6 type win v. Tulane. I want to say Kentucky and Ole Miss were games where we scored almost all of our points in the first half and held on for dear life to win. A fairly bad LSU team required overtime to beat despite LSU's favorite receiver being Rashad Johnson.

The crazy thing - and this proves your point - we were all just so damn happy to be winning those games instead of losing them back in 2008.

Shoot. I survived the early 90's Gene Stallings death by a million field goals offences. Talk about some "ugly wins."

David Palmer had to return a punt to really put away Southern Miss one year.

Tooting my own horn but according to wikipedia, 2008 Alabama defeated Tulane 20-6...good pull on my part. That game was really miserable.

The only thing I remember about that game, other than the score, is that it's the only time I can remember where we didn't play Rammer Jammer after a win

MDB was fairly delicate with rammer jammer back in those days. My understanding is Mal Moore didn’t really care for it and he is why the band director stopped allowing drum majors to call it until after a win. And that was with a strict 2x max play through of the cheer. All of that has stuck as tradition now. I wouldn’t be surprised if band director got a call over the walkie talkie to not play it from someone in the game day production because they figured Saban would be pissed about it.

Or...God forbid...the 1992 offense.

The worst was the Southern Miss game...we won 17-10. Never would have dreamed that we would go undefeated and win the championship.

Win -> advance -> stop comparing anything to peak Saban.

DeBoer is doing an outstanding job.

We tried a bunch of gadget plays last night.

I think they basically have to at this point just to mix it up. Since they are incapable of running the football at all
