Dabo would probably be the first person I would call if I was looking for a coach.

I'm certainly no fan of his but his record speaks for itself.

There's not many active coaches who can dream of matching that, yet no one is throwing his name around on the coaching boards. He's kinda like Drink, just a guy who's personality doesn't scream "splash hire," but his record speaks for itself. Also there's signs Clemson isn't so enamored with him, so he may be looking for a new start.

Nah, Dabo has already proven that he doesn't have the NIL era figured out

No his success is because of his coordinators which he has lost and two great QB’s. He is a mediocre coach and now it is showing

Do you hate your school?
He will perish if he doesn't adapt and find the right mix of talent and assistants. You can't ignore the realities of NIL and the portal in today's game if you want to excel.

He went 7-1 in conference play last year and made the CFB playoffs with sub-par QB and the loss of the coordinators you speak of. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say any SEC team looking for a coach would be head over heals for that success. Listen, I'm aware of the narrative surrounding him. I'm just saying it doesn't match his record.

If I was Arky I would be orgasmic with a Dabo hire.

the right mix of talent and assistants.

Yes, but that can't be done today without accepting and navigating the NIL and portal realities of the game, as stated. Dabo isn't mentally there at the moment. And, he won't be at Clemson much longer if he doesn't get there.

Well, that's just stupid.

I would take him in a heartbeat over Sark as long as he embraced NIL. Guy has rings. There aren't many who do.

Cabo is stubborn and has shown no flexibility in embracing NIL and the portal recruiting required to compete at a high level.
He better get his head straight fast, patience is running thin.

Dabo strikes me as one of those coaches were the modern college football seems to have passed them up. Jimbo, Petrino, Saban are other examples. They still coach like they did 10 years ago and the game has evolved.

In truth Dabo's philosophy regarding the portal is very close to Kirby's. Both prefer to grow players in their system rather than get portal players. Both have very selectively used portal to fill holes. Kirby only seemed to grow into using the portal one year ahead of Dabo. For the record Saban hated it too.
So you do see Dabo adapting. He's just been a year slower than others. Let's not forget the portal has as many, if not more negatives than positives. For every coach lives by the portal there's more coaches that die by it: See FSU, Colorado, etc.

Bad example IMO.
The game certainly didn't pass Saban by nor did he fail to adapt. He retained a consistently competitive program. He didn't like the direction of change along the way, but he certainly used the things he warned against to his advantage.
He lost interest in the future of the game given the NIL and portal era. Nothing shows he wouldn't have continued to evolve to stay competitive within it had he not opted to walk away.

I think Dabo could end up at LSU.

You mean to ask if he knows anybody who wants to be a FBS coach, right?

And just 2-3 OoC.

Auto bid for winning the extremely weak ACC. Would not have gotten an at large bid.

Clemson is currently 12th in a 17 team conference.
