Why is UF seen as a top job?

They have to compete for in state recruits against FSU and Miami who are simply better than UF right now.
Their rivals uga and ut have been significantly better than uf for a long time now.
The swamp is a literal shithole
They ran off Dan Mullen for no good reason and haven’t recovered since
*insert image of McElwain fricking shark*
Urban Meyer was a wet dream.
Middle of the pack p4 job at best

Even when it’s a dumpster fire they are still in the right side of the blue chip ratio and NIL is flowing.

The same can be said for the majority of p4 schools today. Almost the entire sec

Because the right coach can take control of the state in 2 years and be an immediate top dog in CFB.
Miami is pretend and FSU is lol

They ran him off because Florida was in steady decline under him including a losing season in his final year.
It's weird because that's basically been every coach they've had since Meyer.
Muschamp goes 7-6 his first year, but then 11-2 the next. Then 4-8 and 7-5 - fired.
McElwain comes in - 10-4 and 9-4. Then 4-7 and fired.
Mullen comes in, 10-3, 11-2. Then 8-4, 5-6 and fired.
Napier is the only exception. His first year was 6-7, then 5-7 and 8-5. Hard to say what he would have been this year, but likely 6-6ish if lucky.
Florida finished 8-5 the year Urban quit. However, if Cam Newton hadn't stolen that lap top I bet he'd added another NC and his heart would have been fine.

Lately the narrative is Florida lucked into two generational coaches and it’s just mid. At this point I’m usually told that Ohio State is the best job. But when I ask why Meyer only won a single national championship at the best job in the country (Ohio State) and two championships at mid Florida in fewer years…these people look confused.
I’ve said this before but I think the ceiling at Florida is just about as high as it gets in the sport. It’s just a question of if it can be reached. There are negatives. The floor isn’t as high as it is at LSU for example. But the location is great for tapping into Miami, Atlanta, and everything in between. People act like distance doesn’t matter now, but it definitely does. For some reason the bigger the football player, the closer he needs to be to Mom. So in short, It’s a pretty good location with a lot of resources.

Results show the exact opposite.

Big name state school that pays well, in the SEC, has competed for and won SEC and national championships in the past.

Um...how is FSU a better job?
They are 0-4 this year 2-10 last year.
Are you insane or very, very dumb?

Don’t forget that they’re poor! Poor and tried suing the league they play in because they think they deserve better (they’ve won 1 conference game in 2 years). Also poor

This was an uninformed post or troll based on the UT and FSU comments alone.
However, you cowards are pathetic. The Florida schools have never looked at the Big 3 as a knock or negative instate. We love the rivalries. These were some of biggest rivalry games in the nation for a long time. You must be a youngin.
With the right coaches these programs were at times all in the top 10 at same time. We had Spurrier, Bowden, Jimmy Johnson/Erickson/Schnellenberger, etc instate competing and all winning national titles.
Nowadays you clowns would rather run from that.
What elite HC shuns a top program because of instate comp. '

Not really. He was recruiting California players in the last couple of years. That was the sign he was looking to go to California.

The “UF has to deal with other in state schools” argument is also pretty silly when you think about the population of the respective states.
It’s a great argument for why LSU (population 4.6 mil) or UGA (population 11.1 mil) is a better spot then Alabama/Auburn (population 5.2 mil), Ole Miss/Mississippi State (population 3 mil) or Clemson/South Carolina (population 5.5 mil).
It makes way less sense to argue that same thing when Florida has a population of almost 24 million.

Temporarily getting serious for a second...
Big state with a large population and recruiting base
Flagship school in said state
Member of the most important conference in college football
Enthusiastic fans
Large alumni base
Good resources
The only negative is the in-state competition for recruits.

Doesn’t understand the blue chip ratio. 18 teams meet the threshold in 2025. 9 of the 18 are in the SEC.
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
LSU
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas A&M
Texas

They are the number one state school, academically better than those schools, more Floridians are Florida fans. Miami and FSU were better than them in the mid to late eighties before Spurrier arrived.

UT has not been significantly better than UF for a long time. Tennessee has only been better than Florida from 2022 to now and he still managed to lose to them once. Every game win JH has had against them has been a competitive game.
UGA? Yes. But UGA has been significantly better than all of our main rivals for years now.
The other stuff is just **** talking.
And yes, we know you are an alter.
