Bo Pelini was fired in 2014. During his tenue he went 67-27 with a conference record of 38-17. Since Pelini's departure, they have gone 56-72. Prior to Pelini they had Bill Callahan and before him was Big 12 Championship winning coach Frank Solich and Multiple title winning coaches Tom Obsorne and Bob Devaney.

LSU has parted ways with Brian Kelly in 2025. Kelly led the Tigers to a 31-11 record and a conference record of 17-7. Prior to Kelly they had title winning coaches in Ed Orgeron, Les Miles, and Nick Saban.

Only time will tell, but all signs point LSU taking Nebraska's spot as the "What the hell happened?" team in College Football.

I guess they won't reach true rock bottom until the 2030s and another coaching change cycle. Will be entertaining to watch from Kyle Field East.

Nebraska was supposed to run the big ten when they got there. It hasn’t been nearly as easy as pundits thought. But they are smack dab in the middle of the country. Not an easy place to get to.

Louisiana State is in the heart of college football. They will be back much sooner than Nebby will. And I happened to respect the Nebraska fans, who are some of the most loyal in the country. Their former AD was hated. Sound familiar?

I know this is a dumb troll post but LSU has way too many built in advantages to ever become Nebraska.

Auburn has been a dumpster fire since they fired Malzahn. They deserve another 20 years of misery for that move.

Nebraska's problem wasn't not being happy with Callahan who couldn't win any big games- thanks to the Big XII refs (see 2009 Big XII championship game). It was replacing him with the Oregon State coach who would have been a good fit 10 years earlier. But by 2014 Riley was on his last legs and had basically gotten tired of recruiting.

Nah, LSU will be fine. As long as there's children's hospitals to steal crootin money from, LSU will be able to stay relevant.

Now, if we ever started requiring student athletes to actually go to, and pass, their classes..... LSU would crumble within a season.

There is nothing comparable about the two schools.

One is in the middle of white cornfield America with almost no elite talent within 500 miles.

The other is smack dab in the middle of one of the most fertile recruiting bases in the country. LSU has to turn away players that become stars at other places, simply because there isn’t enough spots available.

You realize you haven't actually won anything of consequence since well before WW2? LSU has a Natty as recently as 2019, and a SEC West title a couple years ago.

Why thank you for asking.

No. LSU’s proximity to exceptional athletes right in their backyard (and SEC country in general) is an awesome built-in advantage.

LSU has already obtained two Natties under head coaches who were not necessarily considered elite-level. Even reasonably competent coaching with the athletes LSU can usually pull in will keep them in the mix.

Unless LSU goes completely ape-shite and hires a Bill Callahan or Mike Riley and in process, decides to blow up any semblance of being able utilize some power football in favor of fancy dink and dunk passing offenses, I think the Tigers will be just fine.

BK was just a poor fit for LSU but even he was likely more competent than a couple of the knuckleheads who have breezed through Lincoln these past two decades.

Thanks for thinking of us!
