I believe it has already been reported that he agreed. I read something earlier, but I can’t remember where it was. Maybe on X, but it could’ve been BS.

A coach should think twice before signing a contract with an institution that has demonstrated a willingness to welch on their contracts.

Sounds like Chris Low has no idea what he’s talking about.

He could interview for anything available. I have witnessed plenty of bad interviews from the interviewee. All he has to say is "I'm 64 but I have a couple years in me".

Exactly.

Pay the man what you owe him or Red Stick becomes less attractive for his replacement.

I would very much like to see the actual language of the mitigation clause contained in his contract.

It COULD require him to take any available coaching job at any level (Linebackers Coach at a JC), OR it COULD just require him to interview for HC jobs at P4 schools. Quite a difference, and they would produce very different results for LSU.

I mean, someone would have to offer him a job. Who would want him? He's a total douchebag.

As I understand it, LSU will just continue to pay his salary for the duration of the contract. They offered him a lower lump sum and he declined.

But it would only help LSU by reducing the payout by whatever the salary, no? That wouldn't be much compared to Kelly's salary.

It doesn’t. It just requires due diligence and good faith efforts.
