Is Scott Woodward! Woody is responsible for the 2 largest buyouts in football history. At what point will LSU realize that he’s not very good at hiring football coach?

Buyouts under his watch:
Jimbo- $74 million
Kelly- $54 million
Coach O- $18 million

So between the $20 million roster at LSU, Kelly and Coach O buyouts. Does LSU have enough money left after the $92 million wasted under his watch to hire an established coach? Scotty boy has failed miserably at hiring coaches that generate the most money.

The implications of this buyout will cause LSU to keep their MBB coach after another year of not making NCAA Tournament.

And you can use aTm football as the latest example of getting better when he leaves.

Hell when he left Washington in 2016 all of sudden their football team got better suddenly.

Yall seem really concerned Woodward is going to finally make the right decision.

I guess we’ll just have to see ;)

One thing Woodward is good at is costing schools money! He has cost his last 2 employers (aTm and LSU) over $150 million just in buyouts while being responsible for the highest 2 buyouts in history.

1. Jimbo- $74 million
2. Kelly- $54 million
3. Coach O- $18 million
4. Sumlin- $10 million

Total= $156 million just in HC buyouts!

Woodward isn't responsible for Jimbo's buyout. That guy is at Ohio State now.

A great argument could be made that he should have never hired Jimbo tho.

Unpopular opinion, but I think the hires of Jimbo at A&M and Kelly at LSU were really good hires.

Neither worked out, obviously, but 95% of coaching hires don’t.

A coach is hired, and will eventually be fired. It’s just a matter of when.

My hope is that Woodward will soon be fired too.

I've always wondered, if you can go back and use the hundreds of old alters you've created, why even bother creating new ones? No need, Richard.

He wasn't responsible for Jimbo's buyout.

Maybe if you keep saying that LSU is broke one day it will be true.

He is also responsible for hiring Mulkey & Jay Johnson. They already have 3 Natty’s collectively at LSU.

Woodward isn’t the big problem. Kelly was.

Do you honestly think they would have fired him if they couldn't afford it??
Clearly the booster money is lined up. Sometimes I think you people know nothing about how this stuff works.

Woody was not responsible for the buyout! He left before they gave Fish an extension! Now he did give Jimbo a big contract though.

Woodward was at LSU when Jimbo got his extension in 2021

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents voted today to extend the contract for Aggie football coach Jimbo Fisher an additional four years through the 2031 season.

The Board authorized Texas A&M President Katherine Banks to execute the coach's employment contract in conjunction with Director of Athletics Ross Bjork.

Wow! We never thought of that.

Thanks for your insight, Smokey.

Jimbo buyout was from his second contract, given to him after Woodward left.

And Woodward doesn't spend school money, he fundraises like a beast, and spends private money.

I see this post has downvotes but I will concede u made some good points. I agree, this in theory could give McMahon more time here than otherwise he would have gotten. However, pay attention to who the LSU BOS hires as LSU President. Landry is a Republican and word is he wants someone as President at LSU that is GOP and from Louisiana. If the current President at McNeese State (Wade Rousse) gets the LSU job, then that could lead to the possibility of Will Wade coming back to LSU at favorable terms with a deferred compensation structure (call it the Ohtani contract that he has for the Dodgers).

He is from Golden Meadow, LA, area near where Bobby Hebert grew up in Lafourche Parish (French Louisiana country). He was the Executive VP at McNeese when Wade was hired in 2023 and of course is the current President there. So if Dr. Rousse is hired and McMahon does not turn it around, don't be surprised if Will Wade is back at LSU in the next few years.

So if Dr. Wade Rousse gets the LSU President job, could be interesting.
