Think he'd be the 1st qb taken in the draft or one of the top qbs taken. Any reason for him to come back?

Depends on the way the rest of the season goes. Based on recent history, I think you’re better off getting drafted mid to late first than top 5. I know NIL changes the calculus, but I still think if you get a first round grade, you should probably go unless you just want to play more CFB for fun.

Mayfield, Darnold, Daniel Jones, and Mac Jones were all considered busts just because they were drafted by dumpster fire franchises.

Pretty sure he's gone...and should be if he keeps his level of play up. He should be the runaway Heisman favorite right now.

Indiana plays literally no one the rest of the regular season...nothing their QB does against that crap schedule should impress anyone.

PFF had him as the number 1 overall pick in a mock draft this week.

Seriously hope not. I wouldn't wish the Jets on anyone.

I'd rather he go later in the first round to a team with at least a few pieces in place to be successful...maybe the Steelers.

fricking sad how we wasted two seasons by keeping him on the bench.

Ty has elite accuracy and arm strength. Outstanding awareness and intuition. He will be a top 10 pick in 2026. Not sure why he would come back.

Back in August, it's been said he's not expected to come back barring any last minute changes.

Why would he come back if he is going to be the 1st QB drafted. If he is #1-#10 Overall.... There's no point.

THIS

Anywhere in the first round. That was what Saban always told guys that wondered on whether or not to go. Come back, increase your value with your play on the field. Go make your millions.

Not sure it’s cut and dry either way. Obviously if the season ended today he’d be a first rounder, but things can change. Have to think if he’s a first rounder at the end of the year he’ll go, but NIL has changed this too. And then if he comes back what does that mean for Russell? He probably doesn’t plan to use two years of his eligibility as a backup.

It is when you're projected #1 pick or at least the #1 QB taken in the NFL draft. NIL doesn't come anywhere close to that sort of life-changing money.

So many teams in the NFL are starved for good QB's and have a revolving door year after year like the Browns. A guy like Simpson with his accuracy and proven calm under pressure against the best competition in college football makes it pretty clear at this point.

Plus, what other QB's will be going into the draft with him? Klubnik, Beck, Nussmeier? It's not shaping up to be a great draft class in that area, so even better for Ty.

Agreed that’s why I said “if the season ended today.” If he plays the the rest of the season as well as he has so far then he’ll be a first rounder. If he falls off a little then it’s very much up in the air.

He won’t. Between the ears, he’s on an NFL level. Crazy good arm talent too. There has not been a throw this year that he’s made where I’ve gone “damn if only the ball had a little more pop out of his hand…” the dude has had been consistently good with multiple times a game making “wow” plays. We’ve got him for a few more games and then CKD has Keelon Russell in the hopper.

Let's be a little truthful here...
First, the guy he played behind is in tbe NFL. No small accomplishment.
Second, Simpson underwhelmed in most of his playing time over the past 2 seasons.
Much like Joe Burrow in '19, Burrow also underwhelmed in '18 and earlier.
Just takes different maturing rates for different players. Especially at QB
