Do you think Lea is a legitimately good coach or did he catch lightning in the bottle?

NIL means he can pick up a QB from the lower ranks and be competitive but won't get beyond that point

Jerry Kill is the reason Lea wasn't fired 2 yrs ago.

He's doing well so far.

I wouldn't be surprised if Penn St poaches another Vandy coach.

It’s probably a little bit of both. He’s a good coach but Vandy wouldn’t be this good without Paivia.

Yep, he's a hell of a coach. I think he's only a consultant, but he's obviously giving him great advice.

Its too bad Jerry Kill's health limited his coaching career.

He's literally on the sideline every game right behind Lea with a headset on. He's the real HC on the team, that's pretty clear. His health just can't take the everyday grind of all the HC demands from what I have gathered.

Shame he never got a shot as HC of a real program. He probably would have gone on a Cignetti type of run in this era.

You’re at Vandy - you don’t catch lightning in a bottle without a good coach.

Pavia helps, but the real magic is Jerry Kill. If his health would let him be a full-time head coach, he’d be contending for nattys at a major program right now.

He’s a great coach. Pavia is overrated

Vanderbilt is rich. Y'all should lobby for NIL caps. They're equipped for the future

He has Jerry Kill and the OC from New Mexico. Both guys are veterans who are paid and enjoying their time at the tail end of their careers.

Clark Lea is an outstanding coach by any measure.

He's an excellent coach. So is Brent Key. Both alums, both doing pretty impressive things.
