Bama will move in the polls. Top 5 perhaps regardless of who ahead of them wins. Top 3 perhaps?

The 5 teams ranked ahead of Bama are undefeated. Could we jump any of them. I have not looked at who those teams play, and some may even be off. I would think no way we jump Miami or tOSU.

OM losing at UGA could be the only way Bama moves up. OM winning on the road at UGA would probably trump Bama winning at home vs UT

The only team in the Top 5 that is legit, is Ohio St. The other 4 are overrated.

Yup, I think elite teams can beat you a lot of different ways. Ohio State is the only team I know for sure could beat you in a 17-10 game and a 38-34 game. However, I don't know if I've found the offense that could get into the 30s against their defense yet. Maybe Miami?

I mean, who cares? The polls are completely unimportant right now.

Not without them losing.

The AP poll would probably have Georgia ranked ahead of us.

We'll be the top ranked team with a loss, whatever that position turns out to be. Maybe 6 or 5 at best.

My feeling is because of FSU, they won't put us in a top 3 spot until all teams have a loss.

ranking really doesn't matter much at this point, but it makes for good conversation.

I'm baffled by the obsession with ranking. IDGAF.

Just win. Get in the playoff.

The only ranking that matters is who is #1 at the end of the year. The rest is irrelevant.

Rankings mean nothing with the playoffs. I prefer us to be ranked lower than expected so we can use it as motivation.

This is the correct answer, but it's also a decent conversation piece.

Really no way to know about Ohio State. They've played one currently ranked opponent, Texas, who is just #21. They don't have a ranked team the rest of the way either.

I'd add that it's actually better to be ranked a little lower in this system, too. If Bama finishes #5, they get a home game against the highest ranked G5 team. That's better than a bye, because it's a tune up game that keeps you on form.

First don't really care what the "experts" say. 4 top 20 wins in 4 weeks. That's more than most teams play in a season. Should be number 1. Losses shouldn't be the only criteria. Quality wins should be considered

Agreed, even though Ohio State will only play two ranked teams through the regular season. Ohio State, Miami, and Indiana have a combined 7 ranked matchups in their schedule. Alabama has 6 ranked matchups on their schedule. The CFP committee preaches strength of schedule so that must be a considered.

Yeah 5 is the perfect spot, but if we keep winning there is no way we stay that low and if we lose again they will want to drop us lower

Can't move higher than 4. tOSU, Miami and Indiana don't play a Top 25 team until the Conference Championship games
