The cure for E.D is just putting a 385 pound guy in the backfield.

I thought the ABC announcers were gonna hyperventilate when that big guy for BAMA got the carry at the goal line.
It was like the most exciting thing they ever saw in their lives?????

You’ve gotta admit, it’s pretty fun.

Most announcers are basically Ron Burgundy from Anchorman.
They don’t know football, speak in generalizations and live for media talking points.
People still talk about some fat DL for the ‘85 Bears getting the ball on GL TDs and that was 40 years ago.
This is now a media talking point they can discuss on weekly call in shows and in future games because it’s exciting for casual fans.
I’ll also say it’s been very effective so far as well.
But you’re expecting too much from people who are usually better served being muted.

I rather enjoyed watching it, a 385 pounder with endurance and the ability to run.

What's being underscored is how insanely athletic Proctor is. He's more atheltic for a big man than Elijah Pritchett was and that's saying something.

Aw did you not like it?

Yes because they knew your guys would fold like cheap suits

Tessitore loves him some Bama big-guy action.
He got his first big-guy boner from it from the Clemson game in 2017.

As soon as I saw Tess on the tv roster, I had that game on mute for most of it. Dude is too extra.

He needs to swallow a flannel sock. Jesse isn't any better.

He needs to eat some more pizza and wings if he wants to come at the king. He's got about fifty points to go

Jesse at least knows ball being a former QB.
I think some of these guys could be good in a film room type setting where they don’t have to talk down to casuals.
Even on gameday when Saban is breaking down coverages sometimes they have to tell him to dumb it down.
But the over the top Gus Johnson stuff isn’t my speed.

Wait until the pkg where he throws back to Ty Simpson for a TD

He did not fumble.
Guys not used to carrying the ball sometimes fumble.
I guess it’s an entertaining play, but I’d rather hand to a RB. I think Bama has #4 who is 240 pounds. That’s enough heft.

This is what im tired of, are over the top theatrics on every play. Tessitore and Gus Johnson are the worst.

Only the Gus Johnson types like the Gus Johnson stuff. For intelligent people, it's just overstated emotional muck that doesn't enhance the game.
That and I honestly don't mind Jesse so much. He's improved actually.

Got a ESPN notification pop and the fricker didn’t even score. It’s the most obnoxious thing. But I guess it excites the lowest common denominator.

I would give anything to see someone like Keith Jackson come back.
That man loved the game. Appreciated its history and the culture.
He focused on teams and sometimes coaches and almost never glorified players (unless they did something spectacular and usually selfless).
He assumed you were watching the game (like TV broadcasters are supposed to do) and let the play speak for itself.
Often he was quiet after a very big play.
Broadcasters now could learn a lot from him.
