This guy has been committed to Sacramento State for well over a year now.
He holds offers from all the major SEC teams and many national powers.
What's going on here?

I know that it was mentioned that he made that commitment for PR reasons for Sac State in exchange for $$$ from Sac State. And it was discussed that it wouldn't last. That was the last I heard.

Kid will be in the transfer portal before his freshman year ends
Just a hunch.
Looooong way from Morton to Sacramento. He will get homesick and transfer to be closer to home.

It doesn't matter how far it is. It's Sacramento State. They're FCS.

Kiffin doesn't pay a lot to unproven HS recruits.

They're in process of moving up to FBS.

Dude just wants to go to Cali. Sacramento is cheap relative to most of California and you’re still pretty close to some awesome places

This is the way. You pay a small core and then hit the portal for 2-3 year guys and a few 1 year guys to fill gaps.

He'd rather pay a state income tax to California than no income tax in Mississippi...I guess?
I'd say a simple accounting class would be helpful for him but as someone pointed out regarding grades, he may simply be too much of a potato.

see Ayden Williams. #1 player in MS and highly ranked across all recruiting sites. I hope the young man blossoms under Lebby and makes it to the NFL. But Kiffin and the staff kept bringing in portal WRs with D1 experience and they were better than AY.

Oh absolutely. Ole Miss is doing this the right way by paying players that are proven commodities instead of paying for a bunch of HS recruits that either don't pan out or end up transferring anyway.

It's using the portal for what it is, free agency. And in college you can pull film and see how the guy you're trying to get has measured up against D1 competition. Second, you can evaluate maturity and football IQ before you make a move as well. I believe Kiffin is really good at assessing all of these in players.
