Tony Vitello name has been tossed in the SF GIANTS hat! If the job would be offered does he take it? and how out of whack would TN fans be!

They will just hire Josh Elander, who arguably is the reason for their success.

If he's tired of dealing with all the NIL bs maybe it's something he entertains
He already whined about Oregon trying to buy Schoolcraft before he got drafted

I actually think Jay Johnson would be a fine professional coach

The biggest problem is MLB players taking a college coach seriously
I would think they would need to work in the minors to get some credibility

MLB > SEC Baseball
Giants Stadium > Tennessee Stadium
Knoxville > San Francisco

As a former resident of San Francisco, there is no way I would want to live there now.

The Giants already have Drew Gilbert. If they signed Tony Vitello, they’d become the douchiest team in the history of American professional sports. I don’t see why the Giants would want him unless they think the energy would be good for the team.

"Always been a powerhouse"? Don't know much about Tenn. baseball history, eh? But as far as LSU coach J.Johnson being a fit for MLB, he's said, numerous times, that he would not leave LSU for either the Yankees or the Dodgers. For once, "loving LSU'' actually means something.

I didn't think MLB organizations hire college baseball coaches to come be their manager.

I'd be OK with this because I can't stand the Giants and the Bay Area is chock full of douchebags. It's a perfect match. Seeing Vol fans melt and return to the mediocre baseball they've historically played in that high school stadium of theirs in Knoxville would be even better.

Wishful thinking by a lot fans that said Tony V sucks despite getting dominated by the BaseVOLS

Anywho, Tony V has been on record several times that you coach at the level you played at and trying to coach at a higher level than what you actually played is a recipe for disaster.

Bad news for other college baseball programs - Tony V isn't leaving Knoxville

The Giants were paying Bob Melvin $4 million/year. Vitello is already making a little over 3 in college playing 1/3 as many games and has lifetime job security. Unless he has some lifelong dream of being an MLB coach, I'm probably not giving an MLB job a lot of thought. He's pretty damn set at UT

I've seen enough of Kelly to know he will not take us to the promise land. and it was obvious before the Ole Miss game that the offense was $hite.

he has proven he is no longer a good fit for this program. he is the wizard behind the curtain.
