Ty was changing play at the LOS at almost every snap. He's turning into a True field general for Alabama. He was constantly spending lot of time making changes with RBs, WRs and changing protections for OL. The fact the coaches trust him so much to do the pre-snap calls is quite incredible. Mac Jones is one I can think of that was really good at this. Guys, enjoy this. What he did against Georgia, especially on 3rd downs, How many QBs you can say in SEC that can do this especially against Georgia?

Pretty refreshing after the last two years of having a guy that literally never read a defense or changed a play on his own one time.

Bryce changed the plays a lot as well, and while I really enjoy this part of Ty's game, the running low on play clock every snap is a little nerve-wracking.

Some of that is Grubb getting the call in late.

I don’t think they’re used to loud road environments and they send in calls like it’s playing on the road at UCLA.

Hard to argue with results. They used the whole clock to get in the correct play and it was often correct.

We burned three timeouts in the 1Q on offense and were a train wreck at FSU trying to get set.

So no, while the 1H was a schematic masterpiece the calls need to get in faster in hostile road settings period.

When Ty went to the Manning Camp he was being interviewed and the one thing that stuck with me is his love and loyalty to his teammates and to the university. That’s a rarity today but it also shows about the man’s character and what’s important to him.

I would think he spent hours upon hours in the film room the last two wks and it showed last night. But he still learning to soak it all in as a starting QB. He’s still in the process of settling in as the starter.
He’s done a great job so far, just think when everything finally all comes together for him how good he’s going to be.

It's what I'd prefer but I think DeBoer loves using tempo to discourage substitution however will rarely snap it quickly. I think they believe sweating out the defense is an advantage. If you wait until under 5 to snap, it makes harder for the defense to get an audible in from the sideline. Remember the offense and defense have radio comms for their QB and a designated defender until 15 seconds remaining on the play clock.

I believe our booth is calling in their play and checks close to that cutoff and maybe even have some signal communication afterwards. Very hard for the defense to deal with that.

Flipped the script on the defense. Genius move.

I do not like taking the play clock down with the noise at an away game, but Ty did great with the adjustments and pre snap reads.

One play that stood out in the first half was Ty adjusting protection and then the blitzer getting picked up the RB and having enough time to complete a pass.

I think the most damning thing is looking at our protection this year versus last…

It felt like every game there was a free rusher on most plays. We’re not having drives killed from sacks anymore

I don't know. I think I prefer the last 2 years of just standing there and getting smoked for a sack.

Ty does a great job of moving in the pocket too.

I dont want to shite on MIlroe, but Ty is able to do a lot of things that Milroe simply could not.

I thnink we need to give Sheridan some credit. He was trying to run an offense for a guy that simply couldn't handle it.

Bryce was fantastic at this as was Mac....both kinda had tells though. BY would always audible to a pass, Mac would always audible to a run

Unless the light just suddenly came on for Ty this offseason I cannot believe he never relieved Milroe last season. Not even against UTk or OU.

that should tell you everything you need to know. if Ty was processing pre and post snap two years ago the way he is now he would have beaten Milroe out easily. He didn't have it yet. It was all over the tape the game at USF. Now this kid isn't just playing quarterback, he's commanding the offense. Which is good and bad news. Incoming hot take. I think we're about to witness a young man play himself into a day 1 draft pick this spring. You heard it here first.

During the game I got to thinking about what QBs always gave Saban trouble and it was extremely accurate guys that could also move some. Ty Simpson fits that mold right now and which is why I believe he gave Georgia fits. He only missed the mark in n a few passes during the game. Most of his incompletions were catchable balls.
