If you saw Vandy play and they were wearing Alabama or Georgia uniforms you’d say they are a playoff team. I hope we can get over the emotions of beating Georgia and be ready. Yes I’m a worrier.

Vandy struggled with Utah State yesterday for a lot of the game. I watched most of it.

Their defense isn’t great maybe average. Obviously offensive they can do alot. Defense needs to give us a chance. Don’t have to stop them every time just every now and again. I think our offense will be fine.

Losing to them last year helps a lot in this scenario

I told everyone on here to take Vandy seriously last year but folks were saying “yeah but it’s Vandy” right up until they ran out the clock on us with the lead. I see the same mistake happening this year. Of course, the only real concern with that is our team took them as seriously as our fanbase in 2024. I think our team’s leaders are a bit more mature this year.

I would surely hope this team isn't overlooking Vandy.

Hard to fault them for overlooking Vandy last season. It had been about 40 years since Vandy beat us.

We definitely need to win the time of possession again and keep Pavia on the sideline

We have a brutal SEC schedule.
Normally Vandy would be the bottom of the barrel but not this year. We don’t play any of the crap sec teams. And playing the better teams usually adds more injuries. The Vandy QB got dinged up a little late in the season last year but he is in top condition again this year.

Right it’d be better to play this Vandy team the week before the Iron Bowl than their 2nd conference game. I don’t think they’d beaten us with the Pavia who was carrying a lot of bumps, bruises, and aches by the end of November.

Just bad luck of the draw with Vandy this year.

I'm sure we're not going to be overlooking them. The thing is, Wommack is apparently powerless to stop anyone who is halfway decent at running the type of offense Vandy runs, and Vandy runs it very well.

Ideally, we get off to a quick start and kind of remind everyone who's who in this matchup.

Interestingly, saying "why couldn't we draw State" would fare only modestly better because they're a feisty team this year too. This year's comp to a historical average Vanderbilt team is Florida or Kentucky.

Before you say “but it’s Vandy”, they are averaging 49 points per game and just scored 50+ in 2 consecutive games for the first time since 1915. That offense is for real and it is absolute kryptonite to our 1A high school defensive scheme. Womack better be spending every waking moment figuring it out and teaching it to the kids in a way they understand their job. I’m tired of guys looking completely lost and hesitant because they don’t know their responsibility.
I’m not worried about our offense getting their share of points, but Vandy and Pavia are going to play keep away to keep Ty and Co. off the field and if Womack allows them to slowly drive down the field with 15 play drives, that will be their most effective defense. This won’t be an easy game.

Going to be a shootout, if Vandy plays ball control like we do then there will be very few possessions.

Margin for error gets thin as each team may only get 50-60 plays

I don’t think anyone with a functioning brain has said that since last year.

Opening line for the game is Alabama -12.

As a Bama fan I think that’s about right but if I were a nonpartisan bettor that would be an awful tempting line to take the Commodores.
