Texas falling down the rankings the last few years. Surprising

Arky should be after the Tennessee/Auburn/Mizzou cluster (maybe tied with OU). LSU is overrated and should be dead last (maybe around 210).

Lmao! SEC schools talking about academics, how cute.

Anything beyond Texas A&M is a joke unless there are specialize programs like LSU petrochemical engineering and coastal and wetland science programs!

We’re always better,

We interview based on attitude, aptitude and skill set. Can you work well with a team and simply not be a pr!ck. Could care less where you went to school.

If you believe Gemini, Texas has actually been on an upward trend. And yeah I know no one cares, but I am proud of my alma mater. Texas is one of the top public schools while fulfilling its mission to educate Texans and being a first tier research institution. The business and engineering programs are top notch, regardless of private or public status.

(from a Gemini query about US News and World Report rankings)

Funny to me how UGA isn’t in the AAU and Missouri and South Florida are. But whatever.

Consider my two degrees from UF I agree! However those other schools below Texas A&M are dog shite academically outside select programs.

When I was in school there was a push for A&M to make the top 20 by 2020, we totally fricked that off once we lost the leadership of Gates

The woman president who followed was a disaster

Not sure of the deciding reasons, but I think A&M just decided they would rather expand and produce more graduates. It's a good long term vision.

I have a son at A&M, so obviously I wish the school well.

University rankings are largely meaningless outside Ivy League schools. What matters is how the college for a particular major ranks, as does the major a student chooses.

I feel pretty certain that an engineering degree from Mississippi State will take the average graduate further and be more valuable than an art history or gender studies degree from Vanderbilt.

Tell me you don’t understand how AAU membership works without telling me you don’t understand how AAU membership works.

Among academics USNWR is considered to be the equivalent of the National Enquirer. It is a POS rag.

I would say he same thing even if Texas A&M were ranked number one.
