I’m sure there’s plenty of blame to go around but holy shite #52 got absolutely worked yesterday. He was blocking air, getting run past, getting thrown on his arse….no wonder Gunner has happy feet.

We have two weeks to figure it out but some of these guys need some work and we need our starters back.

Got better when he was replaced by Hughley but obviously gotta get Greene healthy for Bama.TE's were
also whiffing on some blocks especially Luckie.

I don't understand why we wouldn't go to hughely first, uini and Jackson are both absolutely dreadful at guard. Dontrell has been a pleasant surprise at guard. Since Greene is either alright or terrible, I wonder if we might try Gaston at tackle some?

Thank goodness we've got 2 weeks. If our OL can be healthy and decent and our DL can somehow muster a pass rush we could make some noise postseason

It was an atypical day for the TEs when it came to PassPro.

These isn't a replacement for Bowers. They just don't compare.

Intellectually arrested. Cerebral anoxia or inherited genetic defect?

Sadly Yep, however I had hopes we could see at least a shadow of him in his replacements. Nope.

Yes. Uini is supposed to be a backup guard but they stuck him at tackle until they realized that wasn’t working. Hughley was ok game 1. Got better against Austin peay. Then looked even better in basically just the 4th quarter yesterday.

3 injuries and trying to find the right combo with who we have. Sucks, but part of the game. At least we are getting some depth.

On the one hand I give Searles credit for recognizing Uini wasn't cutting it and made the change. On the other hand, what could he have possibly seen in practice that made him think Uini could cut it at tackle? That was just brutal to watch....he looked like a high school kid trying to play tackle in the SEC.

I'm gonna temper my accolades for Searles on this as it was obvious to anyone not legally blind and this:

The OL is a concern for sure, but what about the Secondary getting shredded. Will that get figured out?

How much of the DBs problems from Saturday is due to lack of pressure on UTk’s QB from our DL

Maybe his other options didn't look any better? I wish Easley was still here, although he's not starting at Purdue. In Uini's defense, a loud road game against an aggressive pass rush is not an ideal situation for a novice at OT.

Hughley, Meriweather, Daniels, Harrison, Calhoun, Gaston, freshmen? Hopefully over the next two weeks Greene will get completely healthy or they'll find somebody who can reliably slow a guy down.

I think we focused on not allowing them to run on us constantly and then we also tried to take away their short passes. Put a ton of pressure on the D backs. They lost some battles unfortunately. We start blitzing and we lose ability to contain some runs and turn short passes into big games. Give UT credit. They made some great plays.
