I asked this after last week and now we've seen the boys play another week of weak competition. What are we thinking? Are we legit are is it just the level of competition?

I think our run game is not strong and both o line and d line are under sized. I think a running team will go through us like shite through a tin horn (to quote the goat). Ty seems to be settling in, as are the wide receivers. Secondary and line backers are looking less lost. We should have TK and Jam back for UGA in 2 weeks. I hope the team keeps their intensity up over this bye week. The bye week actually makes me a little nervous... I hope they don't cool off.

I think the offense is genuinely good. Simply left a lot of points on the table against FSU

Defense hasn’t proven shat

UGA will tell us more. We’ve got a potentially nothing but ranked teams until the cupcake opponent. So the test is basically weekly.

We have a good OC and good QB. Defense is still scary due to the DC. DeBoer has a chance to redeem that FSU loss with a UGA win. If he does that, all will be be forgiven for that stinker. That will also mean we are back on the right track.

The offense is elite IF Ty is given time to read and set his feet.

Bama has better WRs than anyone else in the SEC that I’ve seen so far.

The OL is serviceable but needs to improve if we are going to have a functional run game however.

Defense is playing hard the last two weeks despite major interior DL injuries.

I have optimism that if we remain adaptable with regard to scheme that we can have a top 15 defense but agree that ULM and UW are basically non functional offensively so I expect to struggle against a balanced elite roster at UGA.

If the OL can keep Ty upright in the pocket we should be fine on that side of the ball. Still not convinced our run D is going to stop anyone good though. Our linebackers are average on their best days.

Yea... I'm really surprised about the linebackers. They really are kinda non existent.

Fools gold... Players keep getting unsportsmanlike penalty. No talking on the field. Even Dubose teams could run the football. Uga and running running QBs will destroy the is team. There is no physicality at the LOS. I have been a fan since Perkins. So I have seen good and bad football.

A&m has some good receivers too

I’m not trading RW/GB/IH/LB with depth behind it for anyone.

We have speed, we have versatility and we have game breakers.

We just need consistency and to make sure Ty can settle in the pocket long enough to get the ball out because he does not have the quickest release and we saw him get flummoxed against FSU and lose his footwork resulting in accuracy issues.

When he’s settled he’s been dropping dimes.

We’ll know more in two weeks. If they beat Georgia whether by 3 or by 20 we will know this team is headed in the right direction and is capable of winning a NC. Whether they will stay focused or get the big head after we will see but we will know they have the ability.

Worried about run D/pass rush.

Liked explosive plays, want to see if we can get those plays from O against stronger Ds, want to see if we can attack some vertical routes along with our RAC explosives.

You will know more about Alabama after the UGA game. Need to get a close win at least.

Agreed... but what will it tell you if the opposite happens?

Not buying at the moment and will wait until after UGA game. O-Line play (as a whole) is still a concern.

True. Even if we lose a close, hard-fought game where our team really played well, I'll still feel decently good about our chances.

Remember that the FSU loss doesn't count against us in the SEC race.

Even with a loss to Georgia, if we can win out, we'll make the playoffs and likely be slotted for the SEC Championship game.

With a win in Athens, we'll be totally in the driver's seat, and in a really good spot going forward. Lots of tough games ahead though.
Tennessee will be tough. Oklahoma. LSU. Auburn in Auburn. Hell, even Vanderbilt. We've got some toughies this year.

Feeling like a solid B+ / A-

Defense has to continue waking up, and our running game absolutely must start turning up.

The good news about our defense is I think they're mostly built to stop the passing game, so that will help us against certain opponents.
They did a pretty damn good job vs. Wisconsin only giving up 1 score in garbage time.

I think Jam will really help our running game, and I'd really like to see AK Dear get more involved. I think Dear is probably our most talented back.
