Few days post-disaster, I have to wonder if maybe we’re all overblowing the Bama situation

I’ve flipped my shite for a few days. Melted down about 10 times. All the expected stuff.
But it was week 1, and it’s a long season. I understand our own fanbase continuing to flip out. But the laps being done on Bama’s demise by the rest of the SEC and CFB seems a little premature. The “dynasty” has been dead for a while, and the Bama mystique is definitely gone too.
But there’s a shot that FSU and their transfers end up being a good team this year, and this Bama team gets their act together after a shock loss. I think the dancing on our grave before SEC play even starts is a little much from everyone and might eventually look foolish if we turn it around.

Yep. Gumps always dish it but can't take it when the tables turn

Sure... BUT
There's a difference between losing a competitive opener and getting totally dominated by a formally 2-10 team...

I’d say we as fans deserve all the shite talk and probably more than what we’re getting honestly given how annoying we have been. BUT, I think the CFB world is maybe being a little over the top. It’s like our nuclear melt is being met with an equally over the top celebration of demise.

I think we're all in agreement that FSU is looking like a damn strong team. The thing is they didn't just get the win. They physically whupped Bama's arse.

Your coach seems to be in way over his head though.

Because it wasn't that you lost. Looked like the team quit after the first drive.
I think the players don't respect the coaches. Thats a giant problem. Fsu went from 13-0 to 2-10 in 1 year. It's a different ball game. Might not be a safety net

Yes it is an overreaction. But your fanbase on here deserves it. Bama will likely have 2 to 4 losses IMO. But as an LSU fan frick em and take your medicine.

Eh, I don't think we've hit bottom yet but I do cheer your optimism
I was optimistic like this after Vandy. But, after Oklahoma, all my optimism dried up. I knew then we had no coach who understood what it means to be coach at Bama.

Probably.
Bama has changed. They're not as well coached, or disciplined as they were under Saban. But they've still got the talent to win every game ahead of them. Much as I like to clown them for the decline, they're not gonna go like 5-7. They could still end up 9-3, 8-4 though

Bama who? 6-6 on the way. Let it go.

Relax and let the season play out. Bama could easily get it together and be a playoff team. It was one game, and the first game, at that. FSU could be really good this year.

I'd agree with you if this was some sort of freak occurrence.
But in the context of last year's loss to Vandy, I don't think the concern over the FSU loss is overblown. It just doesn't look good for the Crimson team.

My gawd, this is the shite I'm bitching about.
Bama is DONE! Dismount now!

the question isnt what if FSU is more like they were in 2023
its, what if Bama is more like the 2024 version of FSU

Doesn’t this have more to do with Alabama being 5-5 in their last 10?
Posted on 9/3/25 at 5:27 pm to _Hurricane_
Of course, it's the classic week one overreaction syndrome. I mean you're not going undefeated but 6-6 or 7-5 is a stretch IMO. Same for LSU are they good? Yes, better than last year defense especially, but it's a long season with a bunch top 20 teams to play.
