Aside from improvement, I'd like to see ALL the starters (other than Germie Bernard) be put on notice that if players are out there loafing, not trying, half heartedly blocking/tackling, running terrible pass routes, avoiding contact (I'm looking at you, Ryan Williams), you're going to be benched/replaced.

I don't care if we're starting true freshmen out there as long as they give everything they have and play to the standard. Losing games is one thing but guys half heartedly trying and having a crappy attitude is unforgivable.

If Ryan Williams doesn't want to play the slot, I can assure you there are guys like Cole Adams and Jalen Mbakwe who WILL play it and catch the ball in traffic.

Would CKD do this? Probably not but it needs to be done.

You may ask, "Why just the next two games?" Because if improvements aren't shown, it's time to install new guys like Jackson Lloyd and Michael Carroll at the tackle spots, Cole Adams or Jalen Mbakwe at the slot, Alaus Alinen at guard, Zay Mincey or even Ivan Taylor in Bray Hubbard's spot, etc.

Give these guys the reps in the bye week before UGA and roll with them the rest of the way.

I'd like to see the other QBs get snaps so we can see if they also read/process slow and hesitate to throw.

The minute FSU realized our QB struggles to throw the deep ball they came up and dared him.. but he of course missed those TD opportunities because the slow reading and late heave throwing

Fair question. I think it would be easier for him to do that this year than last. I think it's hard to bench RW because of the big play ability, but it's not sustainable for him to have 3 drops a game. I wish Wommack had the nuts to bench 0.. he's not healthy and he cannot run sideline to sideline. If i'm being honest though, Saban wouldnt bench either of them though as well.

Maybe but I bet Nick would have gone off on guys who were half heartedly trying.

Lol

Listening at you, it would seem like Ty Simpson threw 2 interceptions and lost the game for Bama.

Neither one of those guys are PERFECT quarterbacks like you want them to be matter of fact I never seen a PERFECT QUARTERBACK!

First year starter, very limited experience, on the road, in an hostile environment...Did he struggle with some things? Yes! Did he makes mistakes? Yes! Did he give us an opportunity to win after those mistakes? Yes!

It's a reason why former players are saying Ty Simpson wasn't the issue. It's not hard too see.

For sure, but I couldnt tell it by watching the game, and I'm sure they wouldnt either until watching the film. None of us know what was said in the locker room after or during the film sessions. I would say some asses were chewed, but we will see if anything changes on the field.

It's the difference between a strict disciplinarian and soft-parenting. We see the results of both.

That guy was the only person who defended Milroe, no matter how horrible he played, no matter how many boneheaded plays he had and no
matter how much of a diva he was. Always made excuses for him. He acts like Simpson stole his girlfriend in high school and he’s still butt hurt over it.

I just want execution and effort out of everyone wearing a Crimson shirt. Players and coaches. Period.

Best DeBose can offer is to tell the players to let loose and go have fun. Take it or leave it.

play to the standard.

Can someone help me to understand what this means currently?

I understand what it meant in the past.

It used to mean a future NFL difference maker (Christian Barmore) not seeing the field for a year because he refused to maintain gap discipline.

It used to mean 5* WRs or TEs getting benched and being encouraged to leave the team for not knowing or running the wrong routes.

But I watched a senior team captain basically commit assault on the field last year helping to cost his team the game via penalties and cuss out his coaches on live TV while refusing to come off the field and not face any consequences.

I’ve watched assistants repeat the same mistakes game after game with no comment or changes made by the head coach.

Ive watched players show up year after year overweight and out of shape and remain starters.

I watched players refuse to tackle, hit the wrong gaps and stay on the field this weekend.

I watched tv announcers laugh at us for tipping run vs pass based on Milroes foot positioning in the bowl game after doing it all season with no one on our staff noticing.

So someone is going to have to help me to understand what the current “standard” is because to me that implies a commitment to excellence in every phase of preparation, culture, practice and on the field from everyone starting with the equipment staff to the coaches to the players that I haven’t seen at any point in time since Saban left.

Screw that. Ty was one of a handful of players that actually seemed to give a crap. He played pretty well considering it was his first start and it was on the road. Putting in Mack or Russell isn't going to magically help this o-line mesh or Ryan Williams quit dropping balls that hit him in the hands.

Please dont act like these issues werent there when Saban was here too. After 2020 the standard was gone and it's not coming back. One of the most glaring issues since 2020 is how many penalties we commit every single game, especially in crucial situations. 14 Points Saturday were off of dumbass penalties on 3rd and long.

Was there a decline? Yes.

Did we make the playoffs and come a play or two away from competing for a NC the year before he left? Yes.

There have been four games so far in the KD era that drastically exceed any single game issues we witnessed in the Saban era (VU, OU, UM, FSU).

It’s too late for that and besides it’s completely out of DeBoer’s nature to crack down and go hard on his players. He’s a soft coach and that’s the culture.

Not disagreeing with this point. My point is that these issues started under Saban and just have continued. He was able to mask some of them because he's the GOAT, but obviously Deboer isnt able to mask as many of them.

The difference is Saban was still able to win ballgames in spite of the slip in field discipline. This staff doesn't seem to be able to do that.
