I think you have to give DeBoer one more year before you fire him. The freshman class are the only players on the team that he has gotten to recruit to fit his system. Who are they guys so far who have performed the best under DeBoer? Bernard and Brailsford. Guys he recruited for his system.

Give him one more year to build a starting lineup with guys that he recruited. The o-line is dysfunctional because all but Brailsford can't run the pin and pulling scheme the offense now runs. A lot of square pegs in round holes.

See what he can do with guys recruited for his scheme and if he shits the bed again fire his arse.

DeBoer has a couple of more years thanks to the buyout. Money does not grow on trees

He’ll get time because of the buyout. The scheme/player fit isn’t the issue though. We had bad playcalling.

What do you do when facing a mobile qb with limited passing ability? You play sound gap on the line, contain, and spy. Unless you’re Kane Womack and then you just let him pick up 3rd and 7 a million times without throwing it.

What do you do when you start the game with a 16 play drive where you run it down their throats? Obviously get cute and start throwing incompletions and taking 3rd down sacks to make it harder on your kicker

It was really just a dogshit coaching performance. There are things that I want to give them some grace for, but those are outnumbered by a lot of completely awful decisions.

I am usually in the all coaches needs three years. However, games like Saturday will make me say frick all that noise.

He has to fire coaches and reset. Saban gets credit for being tough but doesn’t get enough credit about listening to other coaches and leaders and taking that feedback to improve.

I think he gets it unless things completely implode. Then it’s DEFCON 1 regardless of the price tag.

You just did a really good job explaining what I’m struggling with. Especially that last part.

The things most folks are freaking out about aren’t that important to me at this time. I can absolutely give him grace on most of them.

Some of the in-game decisions are eating me alive, though. And holy frick just slow down the run a little bit and we can at least try to buy enough time to get the offense attacking and maybe we can stay in these games.

It’s like the issues are complimentary if you’re trying to LOSE games.

I need to see us either improve the run defense immediately, or we need to start airing it out with the talent we have.

I don’t really agree with the “run more” stuff. We need to get the weapons involved who can change games. The OL and Richard Young are not dragging us to wins.

Better prepare for the mushroom cloud then.

Serious question: did we ever try to run outside with the running back? I know we tried a jet sweep or two but did we ever try to get our guy on the corner? I only remember interior runs that went nowhere after the first drive.

Yeah I mean the biggest thing is the trust is gone. I don’t feel confident going into any game anymore. We could beat UGA and we still should not get excited. No matter what we do the rest of the year positively there’s no reason to believe it will carry over week to week.

That was what UW fans tried to warn us about. Last year I wanted to write it off. But this is going to be the new normal.

But they won’t have the athletes FSU did so it should be a chance for us to work on execution.

People will come here screaming Saturday if we don’t beat them 56-0. Honestly I don’t care what the score is Saturday as long as we score more points. What I want to see is EXECUTION, people engaged in the game and hustling and trying and doing what they’re supposed to do, not lollygagging. And I want the coaches to put them in a position to do that. The touchdowns and margin of victory will come if that happens.

I think he gets another year, unless there is a complete collapse. A losing season with a loss to Auburn would be hard to overcome. I don’t think it will get there, but it’s bad that I’m not positive.

All he has to do is fire Womack and hire a functional DC and it takes a massive load off his back

So, we went from a 4-2-5 to a 3-3-5 stack.
Is this purely because of d line depth

He will get at least another year unless the bottom falls out and he misses a bowl this year. Very possible.

They only scored 29 points on St Francis, so our defense should be able to keep them under 20…maybe

It’s what our defensive coordinator has always ran.

That’s right, I think the d coordinator at Washington ran a 4-2-5

Even with hindsight, I still cant give you a better name to replace Saban at that time

Wed be in same exact situation. Truth is, we are at a transition point in CFB. We dont know exactly which coaches are gonna thrive in NIL era
