Rant!

We had just short of 200 submissions for our pre-season public vote. Here is the link to vote at the conclusion of Week 1.

Our goal is to share the vote on Monday and the results Friday. Vote on.

I threw a vote in, but it’s difficult to properly rank right now given the small sample size.

I actually want to know what people thought about Tennessee on Saturday. People around Knoxville are of course being super optimistic and people on these rant forums just want to troll. I wish someone would actually try and say what they thought about the vols without trolling. Impressed, not impressed, or no idea

I can understand the Bama drop, but some of y'all are acting like Texas is a pile of garage because they damn near beat Ohio State? Texas is still in my top 3, at #3. I think they are better than everyone except my top two.

They are gonna have to go with Manning, QB's don't develop on the bench. That's a hell of a game to break in a new QB.

Personally, I was impressed by what I’ve seen. Now, full disclaimer, I’ve only seen highlights. But Syracuse is a respectable Power 4 team and Tennessee handled business.

I ranked them 4th in the SEC right behind Auburn at 3. And the only reason I voted that way is Auburn also beat a respectable Power 4 team, one returning a 3,000 yard passer and 1,000 yard rusher along with most of their offensive line in fact. But Auburn did it in a true road game while Tennessee’s win was on a semi-neutral field where the crowd was heavily weighted to the Vols.

Both wins are good and both teams looked good, the slight difference between being ranked 3 or 4 though was where the two played, at least in my opinion.

And I don’t want to put down other teams like Missouri, Ole Miss, and others who looked good in week one. But my vote for Auburn and Tennessee is based on quality of opponents they faced versus the others.

I can agree with four of the five.

Beating Baylor in now way should give anyone hope.

Hell UTSA would beat their arse.
