It was even uglier than I realized when watching it live.
The only passes he completed beyond 5 yards were late in the game when Ohio State went into pseudo prevent defense.

As bad as Arch’s Texas offense was, statistically Ohio State was worse. That was an ugly game all around.
I’m not going to jump all over the kid just yet.

90% of Arch's offense came in the last 5 minutes when Ohio State went prevent defense.
When he was playing against real defense he did absolutely nothing.
Sayin looked way more accurate and polished than Arch.
Sayin had 4 or 5 perfect passes dropped by his usually stellar receivers.

He’s already made 6+ million dollars for his football talents.

Definitely worse than the stats

Agree. He was definitely rusty but offenses all over CFB looked rough this weekend. @OSU defense is the hardest possible opener you can schedule for a new QB. A couple of those throws showed the top 5 pick talent potential.

I knew he was fricked the second he spiked that first pass straight into the ground
I knew he was going to be bad but I didn’t think he would be THAT bad.
He’s not even a Top 5 QB in the SEC.
Painfully clear.

Watched his Miss St game and most of that was wide open easy stuff but he did drop one deep pass in there pretty good. In the short time he played against GA he had that deer in the headlights look like he did against Ohio State.

This 100%. Anyone saying Sayin didn’t look good didn’t watch the game. I couldn’t have been more impressed with him and hartline called about as conservative a game as you possibly could imagine. Really didn’t miss one throw

Whoever said Arch throws like Uncle Rico is spot on. Horrible form. How could a 3rd Gen Mannning have such terrible mechanics?

Couldn't believe it when announcers actually said that it's unfair that Manning's first road start was against an Ohio State defense coached by former Belichick DC Matt Patricia

Yeah, there should be an NCAA rule about situations like that so it doesn't happen again.
The person who needs to take heat for this fiasco is not Arch Manning but Steve Sarkisian. Matt Patricia schooled him and 11 other coaching staffs are going to analyze the crap out of the game tape.

you're going to hope no one remembers this when Arch wins a Super Bowl someday

Good point.
Ohio State provided the blue print on shutting down Texas.
Of course most teams won't have the talent that Ohio State does.
But they certainly showed everyone how they can be stopped.

It's sad watching middle-aged losers cheering when kids going back and forth on the initial learning curve
It was his first start, against the defending national champions.
The fact that it's you posting that is telling.

Damn that's a lot of drops.

He looked sharp. I definitely expected him to me a little more shaken. He stands in the pocket very well under pressure. The only throw I can think of that wasn’t that great (still a great outcome) was the TD to Tate. Tate had his man beat, Sayin under threw him forcing Tate to make that great catch.
Overall the kid showed a lot of potential on Saturday.

Tends to happen when the QB throws from his hip at 150 mph while the WR is running a 3 yard crosser.

HVR..... what a coward.

We were pinned deep in our own end the majority of our offensive drives and had a lead already so we just weren't in position to be throwing the ball around with a new qb.
The offensive stats were just a product of one team trying to bled out the clock from the 2nd quarter on and the other playing catch up. Texas needed to throw the ball, Ohio State didn't.
