To be fair his head coach might be even more overhyped

Sad state of affairs on the 40 Acres

Not even close cat. Arch’s 1st start was on the road vs possibly the best team in the country.

He started games last year and is surrounded by a loaded roster. He’s overhyped (by no fault of he or his family).

He was an above average High School player propped by his last name. Once again not his fault.

If Arch plays like this against Moo or Woo Pig, then I will pile on with you. But he played arguably the best team in the country in their house in his first ever role as the premier QB.

Ty Simpson comes out of week 1 as the biggest lemon.

Here's a scary thought (if you are a whorn fan) what if Ohio State is NOT the best team in the country?

Arch will be fine. Those who watched the game saw flashes of talent, including a couple of NFL-quality completions - against one of the best defenses in the country. People love to slam him because of his name. My hunch is he gets that and will keep grinding to prove his critics wrong. This experience will make him better.

Okay, I'll play.

Anyone who watched that game must conclude one of the following, either Arch Manning was overwhelmed by the speed of the game and unable to make a read or Steve Sarkisian was totally outcoached by Matt Patricia.

And Texas protected him quite adequately. He was only sacked once, and Texas ran for 166 yds.

He struggled greatly to make routine plays. Short routes meant to get a couple yards and a little rhythm, he was short-hopping it, or throwing over, or behind the receivers.
We saw that on the 3rd down play, a simple pass to his back. That was his glitchy sidearm pass that was way behind him.

Texas could have won with competent QB play. Or at least, forced Ohio State to try to mix things up.
