we’re going to take a big haircut to get out of this lost cause. The next coach is going to be a cheaper option who either has SEC coaching experience or a young guy who can be a player’s coach but still a hard arse. More like an older brother than dad.

With that buyout it would be more like a Mike Shula type hire. Will be a former Bama player that loves the University and gets paid less.

Freddie Kitchens has NFL HC experience and will work for a $75/day per diem at Archibald's and 4 cases of Busch a week.

To clarify, I'm not saying we will be hiring Marcus Freeman or Ed Orgeron. I'm saying that is the archetype we end up hiring after excising the DeBoer mistake from the program. We aren't going to be able to afford another big name hire especially with the need to pay the players now too.

I love Freddie but Lord no … some people are not cut out to be head coaches. He was so far over his head at Cleveland that it would have taken a year to get back to level ground, and Alabama is not the place to see if he’s learned from the experience.

Marcus Freeman would not shite on a napkin for Alabama. He’s home.

I highly, highly doubt DeBoer is going anywhere for at least another two years after this one unless he violates the morals clause in his contract.

On the outside chance Bama can come up with the cash to cut him loose, we’re not getting a top shelf HC. I’m sorry but we’re not.

We’ll probably have to choose from guys like:

Matt Campbell-Iowa State HC
Glenn Schumann
Lance Leipold-HC Kansas
