Mine are: Texas, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss

I think four will make it this year.

The Playoff Committee has to get it right this year. SOS better matter, A LOT! Those 12 teams need to look completely different than last season. At least 4 SEC teams MUST get in.

Otherwise, a 9-game SEC schedule will devastate this conference next year.

I certainly agree about SOS. Indiana got in last year by playing virtually no one. All the SEC schools that were in the running had top SOS's. I am also of the opinion that the Group of Five needs to have its own separate playoff. The minor bowls could be used to stage it.

Misery plays a high school schedule (as usual) and to nobody's surprise, is looking for a back door into the playoffs.

I seriously don’t get why people think Ole Miss is going to be a playoff team this year. They lost 18 of 22 starters off last years team including Walter Nolan, a true beast DT, and their QB, that is showing how truly talented he is in the preseason with the Giants. Jaxson Dart will be the starting QB for the Giants no later than game 4.

Otherwise, Georgia, Bama, and Texas all seem very likely with the 4th coming from either LSU, Florida, A&M, or OU.

I think Ole Miss is in the mix because of Pete Golding as DC and Austin Simmons as redshirt soph QB. They also do not play Texas or Alabama of the contenders. They get LSU, Florida and South Carolina at home, among the other touted teams. Kiffin does well with the portal, and it is interesting to note that some of the players now in the NFL from Ole Miss were one-year portal additions.

I agree with you about Dart. But Simmons already has his degree and has been around for a couple of years learning the system. I chose Ole Miss over LSU in my selections because of the Tigers' opening game. If they can get over the hump and beat Clemson in that opener, then they move up in my book as a contender. I know Tiger fans are waiting to see this opener jinx off their backs.

I think Ole Miss will be a surprise contender. This is Kiffin's sixth year.

Texas is in by default. Look at their schedule. If they have 2 losses, they should be out.

Not if the playoffs are expanded to include 16 teams .... which is what is going to happen.

The B1G has already proposed a 24 team playoff but that's just for bargaining purposes.

16 teams has always been the sweet spot ... with no byes.

No byes should be given in a playoff. They've already dumped the "Conference Champions Top 4 Auto Bid" rule.

Why must 4 SEC teams get in when the SEC sh*t the bed in the first expanded playoff and all three 2 loss teams got embarrassed. Imagine if they had let a 3 loss SEC team in.
