I've tweaked a table I made several years ago when Texas and OU announced joining they would be joining the conference. The 3-9 schedule was a inevitability. What would you change? The only oddity I couldn't find a place for was Miss State-Oklahoma, as their next potential rivals (like LSU and Arkansas) already had higher prioritized pairings.

PRESERVED OR ADDED CONFERENCE RIVALRIES:
Iron Bowl (Auburn vs. Alabama)
Third Saturday in October (Alabama vs. Tennessee)
Battle for Highway 82 (Alabama vs. Miss State)
Battle for the Boot (Arkansas vs. LSU)
Southwest Classic (Arkansas vs. Texas A&M)
Deep South's Oldest Rivalry (Auburn vs. Georgia)
World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (Florida vs. Georgia)
Magnolia Bowl (LSU vs. Ole Miss)
Egg Bowl (Ole Miss vs. Miss State)
Khaki Bowl (Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt)
Red River Rivalry (Texas vs. Oklahoma)
Arkansas vs. Texas
Auburn vs. Florida (previously dormant)
Georgia vs. South Carolina
Kentucky vs. Tennessee
Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt
LSU vs. Texas A&M
Mizzou vs. Oklahoma (previously dormant)
Texas vs. Texas A&M
Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt

PRESERVED OR ADDED NON-CONFERENCE RIVALRIES:
Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate (Georgia vs. Georgia Tech)
Florida vs. Florida State
Governor's Cup (Kentucky vs. Louisville)
Battle for the Rag (LSU vs. Tulane)
Border War/Showdown (Mizzou vs. Kansas)
Mid–South Rivalry (Ole Miss vs. Memphis)
Bedlam Series (Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State)
Palmetto Bowl (South Carolina vs. Clemson)
Battle For The Chancellor's Spurs (Texas vs. Texas Tech)

Aggie should be forced to play Texas Tech. That matchup was always a good one, and much bad blood.

Much better than Texas vs Tech

That's terrible for UK. UK will get 3 of these 4, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and probably MSU. And no one wants MSU as a permanent rival. Would much rather have Texas.

I would blow up the SEC office and have a sniper on stand by for survivors if those were LSU's permanent opponents. We have to have at least one of Auburn, Florida or Bama. It should be all 3.

I can guarantee Alabama isn't going to want to change any of the 3 they have here. The only one of those I could see is maybe Florida but I've seen most UF fans asking for Auburn over LSU.

Your proposal is reasonable.

The problem is Mizzou.

No one wants to play them. No one wants them in this conference. They don't fit and don't have any rivals here.

I know this post won't solve the problem, but it's true.

As a Tennessee fan, I'm not a fan of Bama, UK & VU despite those being our 3 oldest rivalries. I'd accept it and understand the reasoning behind it though.

Personally I'd prefer:
Bama, Florida and 1 of VU or UK

I agree. I had Mizzou with Oklahoma and South Carolina due to their previous pseudo-rivalries that have been artificially made either in the Big 12 or while they were in the SEC East. UK is also paired with them due to proximity.

The only rival they have in the conference is maybe Arkansas, but I know Arkansas fans aren't going to want to get rid of any of the three here to replace with Mizzou. I stay optimistic that they can find a way to renew their feud with Kansas into an annual affair.

Give me tx, Bama and GA every year. One home, one road and then our neutral tx game. Will never happen so this is just the fan in me who would love to see these 3 games every year.

That's way too logical, so you know it won't happen.

It looks about right. But, if I had my wish Ole Miss would get Ark and A&M would get Vandy.

That's great for UF but it wouldn't be fair to Auburn playing Bama/UF/UGA annually. UGA/LSU/SCar would be great for UF too.

Personally I don't mind playing those 3 every year. Eventually the law of averages will level the playing field a create parity with time. After playing the gauntlet that was the SEC West along with UGA as a permanent opponent for the last two decades, Auburn fans are immune to consequences of playing a hard schedule.

LSU could be an option for UF but I see there being pushback from Ole Miss, Arkansas or A&M fans if LSU gets removed from their rotation.

LSU is one of those teams like Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee that everyone wants to have scheduled due to some historical connection or local proximity. While there are other schools like Mizzou, Kentucky, and Oklahoma that not enough schools are prioritizing scheduling them.

Two points.
First , OU/OSU isn't a true rivalry. Only OSU really cares about that game.
Second, OU has already schedule a OOC P4 school through 2029.
