9 games?? Why????? Plus the now irrelevant SEC Championship game makes 10 if you're good. I never understood the Texas A&M & Missouri add, much less Texas and Oklahoma. We are gonna kill ourselves and cost the SEC championships in the long run. Don't believe me?? Ask Kirby Smart after the SEC Championship game last year. The Big 10 is laughing at us today.

That 1 P4 game we will be required to schedule better be wake forest and rutgers type teams because there is zero benefit to adding an elite team anymore.

We did what the Big 10 wanted us to do. Our league top to bottom is hands down better than theirs. We are going to cannibalize ourselves. This is what they wanted!!!!!

because I'd prefer to watch an extra conference game than an extra game against East Paducah Technical College

My only regret of that it’s not a 9-game schedule with the 10 pre-1992 SEC teams only. Then you’d have a true round-robin schedule.

I can’t understand the people who don’t want a 9th conference gsme. Are you that entertained by LSU-SLU games?

The CFP is going to reward schedule strength going forward. Between than and the extra money from SEC, that’s why they’re doing this.

The two teams that have to play in the SEC Championship should agree to play their 3rd stringers to ensure they are both healthy for the playoffs.

Exactly. This is the world we live in now. I'd rather see LSU play an SEC school than Western Kentucky.

I started going to SEC games in the mid 70’s s a kid. I just hate what they’ve done to the conference. It’s all about money and to hell with tradition.

Such bullshite. Even with 8 games, the SEC comprised the entire Top 14 strength of schedules according to ESPN SP+ and FPI aside from Wisconsin at 5th which is only non-SEC team to rank inside the Top 14. The SEC basically makes up the entire Top 14 SOS's. 13 of 16 teams rank in the Top 14. There's no need for this as an 8 game SEC schedule is significantly more difficult than any Big 10, ACC, or Big 12 9 game schedule.

I am not a fan of the additions but whatever

With an 8 game schedule there was a non-zero chance 50% of our schedule would be big 12 schools and no ole miss. So going to 9 at least keeps the schedule packed with traditional games

SEC is under contract with the Mercedes Benz Stadium until 2031 to host the SEC Championship. Though no clue what kind of outs that has.

The conference championship game has to be going away soon.

Agreed. It's really gone downhill ever since Sewanee left.
