Word is the Bobby’s offense is putting up numbers this fall camp, and in the first scrimmage on an Arkansas defense that was pretty good last year.

quote:

Arkansas football wrapped up its first full week of fall camp with a 140-play scrimmage in Razorback Stadium on Saturday. Head coach Sam Pittman and players met with the media after the session wrapped up, but the scrimmage was not open to the media.

The Head Hog recapped what sounded like a dominant day for the offense, headlined by running back Mike Washington. The New Mexico State transfer had a 62-yard touchdown reception and a 40-yard touchdown run. He punched in another two touchdowns the rest of the way.

“The one that (stood out) was Mike Washington,” Pittman said. “He’s really good. He’s fast. He can break tackles. He seems to set up blocks well. But he seems like he can run forever… The first play of live tackling on the year he goes to the house on a little stretch play.”

Bad defense more than good offense.

This is always the conundrum with spring and summer practice. You can take anything you hear as a positive or a negative. Impossible to really know anything until you meet decent competition.

Arkansas will only go as far as Taylen Green will take them.

If he has problems with turnovers like last year then Arkansas will have a losing season.

If he takes care of the ball then Arkansas has a chance to go 8-4.

Petrino compared Mike Washington to Knile Davis. 2010 Knile Davis was a fricking beast.

What is a good year? 8-5 with a bowl win?

I have the same problem judging fall practice and scrimmages. If I see the offense exceed, I get concerned with the defense, and vice versa.

It's practice and they need to sell tickets.

The defense line will be a weak spot this coming season.

Do you guys know why the main WRs are going to be with Armstrong and Teesla gone?

Short answer, no. We aren't due.

While any Petrino offense can move the ball, we don't have the overall talent or depth to have a good year with our schedule.

Ignoring the sunshine pumping, I have no idea and I doubt they can match the talent level of those two.

We’ll have a good team but it depends on how well the other teams have retooled that will be the main factor. They only had 2 losses that were out of hand so if they can flip a couple they could win nine with a bowl win.

I was on the road during the ole miss game, thankfully, so I didn’t see it but they beat the brakes off of us last season. I didn’t bother to seek the replay….haha

Sometimes it feels like your school ignores football, and if they suck, they usher you into basketball season so you forget about it. I think the same thing happens at LSU pushing it’s fans through men’s basketball into baseball.

You really think Sam is touchable if it’s a tough year tho?

Sam needs to win less than 7 games. If he screws around and beats Notre Dame at home and wins 9 games, similar to his second season at Arkansas (beats Texas at home) we are going to be tied to his arse even longer.

Its a damned if you do damned if you dont scenario.

As long as they don't beat LSU, I sure hope Arkansas runs through their schedule.
