ESPN SOS

When you click link, press Ctrl+F and type in SOS, and it will take you directly to it. This article is a couple months old by the way, but should still be good.

1. OU
2. Florida
3. Arkansas
4. Wisconsin
5. Vandy
6. Miss St
7. Scar
8. Kentucky
9. LSU
10. TAMU
11. Bama
12. Texas
13. UGA
14. Syracuse
15. Auburn
16. Rutgers
17. Purdue
23. Ole Miss
24. Tenn
25. Missou

So you have Ole Miss, Tenn, and Missou having cupcakes. Good thing is that none of the 3 are likely an actual threat to make a CFP run or even make the CFP. With just how much Ole Miss lost, basically entire roster (1st rd QB gone, top 3 in rushing gone, 4 of top 5 in WR yards gone, best defenders gone), then Tenn replacing I-am-a-leava with a QB that finish 93rd in QBR in FBS last year, I don't see either getting into the CFP.

I think CFP committee and people in general do not weight just how important strength of schedule really is.

I don't like the way SOS is calculated. I have no interest in evaluating "the more difficult game" when talking about the dregs of different conferences. Who cares who the better team is between Miss State, West Virginia, Wake Forest or Purdue?

Evaluating a team's 4 hardest games is what interests me. With 3 losses, making the playoffs is very difficult. With 4, it is likely impossible. The 4 most difficult games are what matters.

I am too lazy to do it, but someone needs to do a SOS ranking based on the 4 most difficult games on every team's schedule.

Looks like they would cut us some slack occasionally.

Not our fault. We had USC and Wake Forest on the schedule and they both bitched out in the last 14 months. So they were replaced with Georgia State and Washington State

There's a good chance Pittman will be back after this coming season.

Teams who play Miss State, West Virginia, Wake Forest or Purdue care. Especially if they lose.

Wisconsin plays Bama.

Ohio St plays Texas...and must have one sh!t of a rest of the schedule to not even crack the top 25.

The 5 SEC teams with the hardest schedules struggled last year. I also kind of wonder if their schedules aren’t harder because they can’t play themselves

Theyre harder cuz the commissioner makes easy schedules for the clear cut favorite teams so he can rake in mire Natties. If he dont think you can bring him a natty your getting the black curtain, Bama, Texas, LSU, Georgia and anyone else ranked.

QB is young but many believe is more talented than Dart, have to wait and see how fast it clicks.
RB OM improves 10 fold
WR lost some good ones, but reloaded not a problem, LK thinks its the best unit on the team
DL- Lost some studs, but should be good.
Back 7.... Lord help us!

Nothing new here. The only question I have for this year, will the Playoff Committee reward SOS?

They should and its ridiculous if its not a component.

Also, what do you team SEC folks have to say with our schedule this year? We scheduled Michigan last year, Ohio state this year, and even with our supposed terrible SEC schedule we have a top 12 SOS preseason (obviously very preliminary)

Point being quit the whining about Texas schedule when we clearly play a difficult schedule and worry about winning the games in front of you

The biggest problem is directing this back at me, Shorthorn. If you want to talk to the masses, don't direct your stupid crap at bamameister.

You can talk OSU all you like, then you follow up the trip with San Jose State, UTEP, Sam Houston, and Bye. Great optics for a solid month of football. You had better beat OSU with that clown show you are about to put on in the entire month of September. I doubt the SEC Network wants to try and cover those silly OOC games.

And by the way, no one in the SEC believes you got a tough draw in the SEC. It will get a lot tougher than that shorthorn.

They won't reward SOS. There's a reason Notre Dame gets rewarded every year.

Might be tough keeping a 10 or 11 win SEC team out despite the strength of schedule. This is setting up to be a great year for Mizzou. The reason I say that is because if it pans out, the old timers can once again say Mizzou did so well because of their cupcake schedule/injuries/officiating....laughing all the way to the CFP's....get that trophy ready.
