Boo Carter acting like a bitch
quote:
Rumors surrounding his status with the team have surfaced on social media. Tennessee insider Tony Basilio attempted to clarify the situation with an update. “They’re having some issues with him,” Basilio said. “I do think that’s real, and I don’t at this point in time think it’s a slam dunk that he’s playing here this year… “Tennessee paid [Carter] a lot of money to keep him here, and quite frankly, he has not been plugged in this summer… The picture that’s painted is one where he’s missed some workouts, he’s come late to some team stuff, and you have to understand something about Tennessee’s current situation and their current setup… Josh Heupel wants to guard his culture.”

They are waiting too late if they don't want this to impact their culture. TOO LATE

I’m not surprised and I don’t blame JH. It’s modern college football. You can’t punish a guy for not doing the right things because he will just pick up and roll. You hand these guys a bag and expect them to act like professionals but most of them don’t know how.

How is this different than their fanbase. False sense of greatness

Head coaches can't afford to be permissive parents. Yes, doesn't mean a damn thing without a clear NO.
By the way, entitlement has been around a lot longer than NIL. I would make it painfully clear to Carter that the Transfer Portal swings both ways and just as fast.

This mindset will eventually infect all of our programs. College football is on its last leg.

Someone who's a big fan of 'To Kill A Mockingbird'?

OR someone who calls the one they love - "Boo."

Hard to know what's going on. His mom said he isn't in a gang so it must not be too bad off the field stuff. Rumors are that its not NIL related. Sounds like he fell out of favor with his locker room.

Where are we as a nation when this needs to be said by mothers to provide confidence

We can all point and laugh but the reality is there's at least 1 player like this on every SEC team who gets paid and then trails off into the sunset of not giving a sh*t. Just the reality of giving into the demands of large sums of money to teenagers and people in their early 20s.

Boo might not be their biggest problem. Their starting QB just set foot on campus in May.

Honestly if I'm being pragmatic about everything, this is as good of a year as any for this bullshite to be happening. I didn't think we were winning a national championship this year even with Nico. Hell, there is a decent chance we are as good or better at QB without him TBQH. Take this year to build up to next year and try to establish a culture and protocols to deal with the bad eggs.
