Sankey is still whining about a 9 game conference schedule but he is a dumbass. The uneven home and away is stupid. The one more loss for half the SEC every year is stupid.

Instead add a big 10 opponent to every SEC teams schedule every year. This will add revenue and improve the SEC’s claim on CFP spots. It wont be another loss for half the SEC it wont make an unfair conf schedule.

This year OU plays Michigan and Texass plays OSU. Just add in all the lesser Big 10 teams vs other SEC teams….

What is wrong with the Big 12? Both Texas and Oklahoma struggled against the Big 12 teams in most years after Texas A&M and Missouri left for the SEC. Mizzou is going to play Kansas this coming season. Why not get Oklahoma to play Oklahoma State every year as their rivals?

They are already having discussions.

The Big Ten and SEC are in preliminary discussions about staging a series of nonconference games with each other that would enhance their primacy and financial dominance over the rest of FBS, sources confirmed to CBS Sports.

I think it will ultimately happen, but can’t see it being a reality until 2032 at the earliest.

Heard on the radio today the Big 10 is taking a hard stance on the 16 team CFP unless the SEC goes to 9 conference games.

Your proposal could be a compromise.

The B1G rarely agrees to play hot games in the south. This has been thr case for Ole Miss for a while. The B1G teams generally refuse to play us home and home.

It could be that ole Miss is not the draw that the big six teams are and they are just waiting for that opportunity.

Wisconsin is playing Alabama at noon in BDS.

The Playoff Committee did not reward SOS. That's the bottom line. Indiana, Boise State, SMU, Arizona State, and Clemson did not have better teams. They simply hide in conferences with much weaker SOS schedules. Now they want the SEC to take a bigger bite of the SOS apple. No thanks.

Your proposal could be a compromise.

I doubt it, when you award the sec a ninth game via the big ten you’re simultaneously giving the big ten a tenth game.

UGA/SC/Florida/Louisville:

8 - SEC games
1 - in state OOC (ACC for now) rival
1 - B1G team

Pass.

ASU bsu Clemson are conference champs, at a certain point you can’t have a true playoff without them. If that’s the case kill the playoffs let big champ play the sec champ and call it a day.

I agree. Why not have a p/o ONLY with conf. champs?

I like the idea of doing home and away two year series with the big ten and then rotating to a different opponent.

Hypothetically

Texas vs USC
OU vs Nebraska
Alabama vs PSU
LSU vs Michigan
Georgia vs Ohio State
Auburn vs UCLA
Tennessee vs Oregon
Florida vs Wisconsin
A&M vs Washington
Missouri vs Iowa
Vanderbilt vs Northwestern
Arkansas vs Minnesota
Kentucky vs Illinois
Ole Miss vs Michigan State
MSU vs Purdue
USC vs Rutgers

There's just not enough matchups worth scheduling with the Big 12.for a similar proposal

were you in a coma for 20 or so years? Oklahoma dominated the Big 12 up until a few years ago.
Edit I left out a few won by Nebraska and the AGs won it one year if I recall. My point still stands though.

Big 12 championships
Oklahoma - 14
Texas - 4
Baylor - 3
KSU - 3

Texas and Oklahoma won 18 of the 24 titles. That's struggling?

Select locations and have three games at each. 1100, 330, 7/8 kickoff times. Have the cities bid to host, along with the TV stations. Start the season like this every year.

I love the idea of a B1G vs SEC conference showdown every year. They do it in basketball. We could settle the "best conference" claim once and for all.

Given the west cost teams in the big ten you could have games at:(EST)

11am: two games East Coast teams host
3pm: two games
6:30pm: two games
10:30pm: two games between Washington, Oregon, UCLA, USC hosting

Just every team do what Alabama's doing this year and LSU last year but an extra P4 game to make it 3, maybe a Big 12 school
