What will Arch Manning need to do to not be considered a failed investment at Texas?

I think Arch is a great athlete but he may be the most overly hyped recruit in the history of college football. I agree he certanly has the tools but he has yet to prove himself in college or high school yet the hype train barrels along,

At Newman he lost the games in the few times Newman faced teams with good pass defenses. He played three good teams in 2022 and was 0-3. 80 yards passing in a loss to Many, 7-of-15 passing for 121 yards was his line in a loss to St Charles and ib his last game he was 8 of 21 for 96 yards with two interceptions and one lost fumble against University Lab, Two of those turnovers led to Lab TDs. And that is after they brought in a college coach to call plays his senior year.

At Texas he only started twice against MSU and ULM. He had a superior personnel set against these two teans and failed to break an 80 QBR against either. ULM had a pass defense ranked 125th in D1 and he still threw two pic against them,

With the hundreds of thousands spent to recruit him and the millions spent to keep him and create his supporting cast I believe anything less than an SEC title this year and a run to at least the semis is a failure.

To match the hype hes getting? Go undefeated, win the Heisman, win the natty and go #1 over all.

For all the hype he's getting this preseason he had better leave Austin with a Heisman Trophy, SEC championship, CFP championship, and the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Manning needs an SEC Championship or a Playoff Championship game appearance not to be considered a failure after all the hype.

At this point?

A run of 48 consecutive wins to eclipse the record of 47 by OU, three straight Heisman trophies and national titles…

Might not be enough for some.

He has to live up to the hype, both in the media and among Texas fans, and that would be to win a national championship for them.

Better have a chat with Belmont Hall. They're the one spewing the hype on a daily basis.

Ewers got Texas into back to back final 4s so he needs to do at least better than that.

People from Louisiana already know what’s about to happen. Manning wasn’t even the best QB in Louisiana his senior year. The longhorn fans will see soon. OSU is likely to beat them by 3 td’s if the new OSU qb isn’t a dud.

Someone should’ve told Brian Kelly this. It would’ve saved him a lot of time on a failed recruitment.

You have bad info. I know shocking. Kelly spent more time on the kid that was better than Manning but he didn’t land him either
