How big of an impact will Ryan Grubb have on Alabama's offense this year?

Bama fans told us last year when he went to the Seahawks that it was DeBoers offense and not a loss at all. Can’t wait to see the spin now

I feel it will be a very dramatic one. Yes, I drink the crimson cool aide, but I see it being a more aggressive, attacking offense. Having a quarterback that can read defenses will help this year, also.

My sources told me that we're runnin' da Joe Brady offense, anyway.

I'd be satisfied with them repeating what they did the last time he was DeBoer's OC.

Every Bama fan I know had concerns when Grubb took the NFL job and DeBoer had to make a last minute promotion of Sheridan. He wasn’t ready for an OC job at a major SEC program but options were very limited that late. Grubb was an obvious loss from day 1.

Will his philosophy translate with this year’s personnel?

No impact. None. Not one bit. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
Don’t even know why he was hired.

Maybe.

I'm not on the coaching staff or attending meetings or practices.

oh they're definitely going to spin it and also blame it on Milroe too, which I get Dubose was in a tough spot then since MILROE LITERALLY LED THE TEAM TO THE CFP IN SABAN'S LAST YEAR but let's not forget, he's largely the reason they beat Georgia, LSU, and Mizzou last year and made the plays to beat South Carolina. Bama fans are who they've always been: they talk out of both sides of their mouths and possess ZERO consistency

A big one. We wont waste 10-15 plays per game on obvious qb runs with no handoff or pass options. Even if milroe was still the QB. God what awful waste of plays. (Except lsu of course)

depends on Ty's performance and how well the offensive line pass blocks, outside of Williams, I don't buy the hype on the other receivers, think the brand inflates their value I also don't buy the hype on the running backs either. We'll see when the pads hit this fall.

No one put a gun to his head and forced him to start Milroe over Ty, so you factor all that in and maybe the plausibility that maybe Ty just got beat by Milroe for that job last season

Very true.

To answer the OP, RG being at Alabama will definitely help.

Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

When DeBoer beats LSU (again) and goes on to the playoffs this season while BK is busy racking up 4+ losses, please do not hesitate to reference the link above.

You’re welcome and hang in there.

Starting Milroe was a given. You don't take over a program and replace your returning starter at QB with someone who had never started a game. Especially if the returner was on Heisman watch lists and had taken his team to OT against the eventual NC.

That doesn't mean that DeBoer didn't recognize Milroe's shortcomings or that Simpson was a better long term fit for the system.

Grubb is a good OC and even more important, there's a ton of trust between he and DeBoer.

They'll go as far as their quarterback takes them.

no coach could get away with doing that except maybe saban and the team went undefeated.....a brand new coach...bench milroe lost 3-4 at the beginning of the season is a recipe for one and done
