My buddy Jukin needs some input from you all so he can feed that info to his best friends John T Edge and Marty Smith and Wright Thompson
If I nominate regular fried chicken and mashed potatoes with white gravy while watching vintage Hee Haw DVD's, I might get accused of being a racist by Wright Thompson and those others, so I outta be careful.
I've sure had some great soul food in Arkansas and Tennessee and Louisiana and Georgia, so there's that just in case Wright Thompson is reading this.

I sent them a suggestion to visit Yazoo City, MS. It is a shithole, but I ate some amazing food there. It has interesting history and seems like the type of place that they like to go to.

Lulu singing could put a tear in your eye still. Idk if they've been to Tupelo but that's a nice little town IMO. They should go to Beacon Drive In in Spartanburg

Belzoni, MS, the "Catfish Capital of the World". Also has one of the best soul food joints you'll ever eat at.

If they haven’t been to Auburn or Athens, they should go. True college towns. Decatur would also be a good place for White Sauce history. Conecuh Sausage would also be a good visit.

I forgot about Mississippi - we had some good soul food somewhere a little west of Hattiesburg back decades ago
Actually it was awful but I'm trying to be nice

John Grisham's uses of the topic in his novels are historic. I savor the excerpts about how your 12-1 lunch group is served their food and told they have 20 minutes to eat it and get out, because so many others are waiting to get a table.

Weaver D's in Athens is the deal (or at least, used to be). Been a while since I visited but it was some of the best soul food I've ever had. Athens is a great town (jmho).

I can't listen to him. At all. If Ole Miss has any association with him (and why should it?) then it needs to sever it. He's a gigantic pussy.

If you know of a place that would be a good fit better keep quite or the hipsters will move in and they will start serving cheese grits ironically and you will have to wait 3 hours for a table....for those of you are uncultured enough not to know any better ain't nothing ironic about cheese grits...if there is a heaven they serve cheese grits, real ones not instant, all day every day....
