Granted the addition of Texas and 0U all but guaranteed two more seats at the table. But the SEC could have as many as 6 teams in the 8-team WCWS field.

That is amazing and I owe an apology to bigDgator for questioning the depth of the SEC.

If SC wins tonight that will make 6 SEC teams in the 8-team world series bracket.

Amazing!

impressive but all SEC CWS plus OU winning every year probably going to kill the sport

I dunno, it didn't kill college football.

All I know is I'm glued to the games. I just can't believe the athleticism. SportsCenter type plays are made routinely in the field.

It really is entertaining. And the games are extremely fast-paced. Much faster than baseball. It's almost like arena football in comparison to regular football.

Maybe that's a bad comparison, but it's the one I came up with off the top of my head.

It's a great game! 7 innings vs 9 helps a lot with fatigue. Plus not allowing the pitchers to throw to first 50 times a game helps too.

College baseball absolutely needs a throw over limit and minimum number of batters faced rule like MLB.

LSU is always in it... until Beth does her thing. Very disappointing.

Softball is now the premier girls sport in most of the country (volleyball dominates the Midwest) and its built for TV. Games rarely last over 2 hours with commercials, it's fast paced and college softball is the top of the game (the professional league that exists is a big nothing)

The Pac 10/12 dominated the sport for 30 years, including during its exponential growth. The SEC having six of the final eight will just force the other leagues to put their best foot forward. UCLA, Oregon and Washington have history and will make the B1G more competitive.

I've tried numerous times to get into college baseball and actually followed it pretty closely for two or three years in the mid to late '90s.

It's not too bad listening to the games while you're doing something else, but I can't just sit there and watch an entire game very often. The pace is brutal compared to softball.

I told myself I'd try again after they got the pitch clock but haven't gotten around to it. Might give it another go after softball ends in a couple of weeks...or might not.

WBB is far more popular everywhere as compared to softball.

it is a great sport.

The Liberty RF catch and the rocket throw home for a sweeping catch and tag reminded of Roberto Clemente. I haven’t said that in decades.

Big difference, in Softball the good hitters swing the bat and deliver instead of watching called 3rd strikes.

And the enthusiasm in the dugout is fun to watch.
