I wonder if you can pay to watch on a game vs game basis without buying the entire streaming service. Like a PPV fight etc

If they want to officially kill college football as we know it then that’s a way to go about it.

It's possible, but I seriously doubt it. We did the PPV thing already. They didn't use it on big games as he suggests, they use it on smaller games.
Also, I'm not sure why he's pretending ESPN is free to start with. I already don't watch games on their channel.
They put the big games on prime time national TV for a reason. And we saw that last year with ABC basically doing 3 SEC games a day most weeks unless they had a bigger game with other conference teams they could broadcast.
He mentions fights and such. That's always been the case for the past 40 years at least.

In addition to the NIL screwup this might just sink the ship for good

Or how about pull that crap and everyone drops ESPN. Everyone won’t but maybe enough will. Seems ESPN would make more putting that level game on ABC. Commercials pay the way.

I grew up listening to most games on the radio. I did that for most games in the 2023 season as well.
It's not bad IMO.

They already have.
And they keep making more money.
Stop watching. Stop buying. At some point a message has to be sent.

I'm only watching if my team is playing. I don't care enough about this shite if not.

It really is.
Between the MBAs running the athletic departments like a Fortune 500 alienating all the fans, the courts creating anarcho capitalist NIL markets to the point that half of the players transfer every year and the TV networks trying to bleed the last drop of blood from CFB to prop up their dying business models the mountain of goodwill I had towards this sport is completely gone.

Imagine the put a camera in a players helmet and you can watch it on your Vr headset at home how cool would that be???

If they broadcast the game in 4K with the numerous alt channels they do for the CFP games and without the annoying arse banner at the bottom and keep the replays available on demand forever, I would happily pony up for every game.
But why do this when they can charge advertisers to cover 15% of my screen, show me the game in 720p with only 5 cameras and a couple of announcers who spend at least one series telling inside jokes to each other about a personal life experience I could give a shite about.

That might be cool once or twice but it wouldn't last. The more they frick with how they air football games, the more it will drive fans away. The cat is out has the zoomies. No putting it back in it's cage!

So we're going to be back to where we were 30 years ago when if your team wasn't the Jefferson Pilot, CBS, or ESPN Saturday Night game your only option was to see it in person or buy it on PPV.
