Auburn is already a lock to host and is currently in the driver’s seat for the top eight, barring an epic collapse

Auburn will be 16-11 likely after this weekend. Then they head to Ole Miss. 18 SEC wins likely gets them a top 8.
They’re #4 in RPI and have 13 Q1 wins

While unlikely, can you imagine if 10 of the 16 hosts were from the SEC???

They'd start talking about expanding the tournament or changing the format much like the immediate aftermath of 1/9/12.

Auburn has won 6/8 SEC series, losing series only to the #1 and #2 RPI teams. Series wins over LSU (sweep), Tennessee, and Vandy. And we don’t have the luxury of padding the W/L column with Mizzou.
I think Auburn needs 4 SEC wins and a midweek win over Jax State to lock a Top 8 national seed. Three SEC wins probably puts us right on that line but there’d be no guarantees. Two more SEC wins locks us in as a regional host, IMO.

If I had to rate the SEC resumes I’d put them like this at the moment:
1. Texas
2. Arkansas
3. Georgia
4. Auburn
5. LSU
6. Vandy
7. Tennessee
8. Florida
9. Alabama
10. Oklahoma
11. Ole Miss
All 11 still have a shot to host a regional, but 2 will fall to a 2 seed.
I think we get 5 of the Top 8 national seeds.

I’d swap Auburn and Tennessee as possible top 8s. Auburn in better position right now than Tennessee

Out of Tennessee, Florida, Bama, OU, and Ole Miss, one will surely make the cut, but there are scenarios where that's it. Florida has a nice RPI, but will have to at least get to 15-15. If they do, it's likely to be at Bama's expense (and Bama has to survive UGA, first, as Florida has to get by the Horns). Tennessee has a rough run in (home to Vandy, @ Ark). Ole Miss and OU would probably get passed over for teams from "special needs" conferences as of today, so they've got work to do.

Don’t know why you think that’s funny. It’s hard to argue with where he put our résumé.

Missouri plays MSU and A&M to close out
Put A&M and MSU in the tournament

It's just odd seeing Auburn there. The fact that Auburn is 4 speaks a testament to the shakeup in SEC baseball over the past few seasons.

1. Currently trying for back to back national championship in golf.
2. Final Four in basketball.
3. (Likely) Regional host in baseball.
4. Won 3 of the last 5 games in football.
5. Won 3 of last 8 national championships in Equestrian.

We took the series from Arkansas...

Auburn has been to Omaha twice in the last 5 Tournaments. You act as if Ole Miss is an Omaha staple.

There will be a non Regional host SEC team in Omaha. Book it.

Still double take whenever Aub is the slightest bit good at baseball.
