What a joke of a poll D1 is starting to look like.
Nothing against your team BigBro...but in no way, shape, or form is Texas deserving of keeping any type of #1 ranking. If it was a close series, sure, an argument can be made...but the weekend wasnt even close.

If you look at the season as a whole, who has a better argument for #1?
Georgia? They have been swept twice.
Arkansas? They have lost 3 of the last 4 series.
I understand your argument, but if you look at the whole season, I think you can make a decent argument for Texas.

Would be great for seeding purposes, but they are a weekly poll that rewards/deducts for each teams weekly performances. They even go as far as to list weekly records for each squad.

Texas is 11-1 in Weekend Series, which they also list..
I'm not saying I agree with their ranking, but I do understand the argument as to why they should be there..
Look at the last 4 weeks.
Texas is 8-4. None of those other teams are 8-4.
Are you only basing it on one week? If so, maybe Florida should be #1.

I have to agree with the hog fan. I get your point but they didn't just beat us. They dominated us. They deserve to be in front of us for now.
But you make good points. I just can't see us being ranked ahead of a team that beat us that soundly.

Should that be ignored because Texas had one bad weekend? I don't know the answers.. I'm just saying some of the metrics do point to Texas still being #1, right or wrong.

I'm simply stating there is an argument to be made both ways.
In the case of Texas vs Arkansas.
Last 4 Weeks
Texas 8-4
Arkansas 6-6
Last 4 Series
Texas 3-1
Arkansas 1-3
vs Texas A&M (both at home)
Texas 3-0
Arkansas 1-2
vs Georgia (different venues)
Texas 3-0
Arkansas 1-2
vs Florida (different venues)
Texas ?? (this weekend)
Arkansas 1-2
But yes, they did kick our arse, and I don't know how you measure all of that against each other..

I'm not sure anyone deserves it this week.. that's the problem. Everyone has some warts the last 4-5 weeks.

If you were voting in a poll, I'm guessing you would use ELO, RPI or some combination to come up with a list. It isn't easy to rank teams at this point in the season..

Honestly, I really don't care where we rank as long as we are a top 8 at the end.
We hit a mid-season slump while we were recovering from a bunch of injuries. It happens. We need to go prove it at LSU this weekend and that is always a challenge for the Hogs.
