Link behind Paywall, But I'll Provide the List Below
Chris Pollard, Duke Head Coach
Skip Johnson, Oklahoma Head Coach
Josh Elander, Tennessee Assistant Coach
Nick Mingione, Kentucky Head Coach
Mitch Canham, Oregon State Head Coach
Scott Forbes, North Carolina Head Coach
Wes Johnson, Georgia Head Coach
Mark Wasikowski, Oregon Head Coach
Its a decent list of candidates, and State will have to pay for any of them. Lemonis was the 9th highest paid coach in the SEC at $1.3 million. Forbes makes $1.7 million at UNC, for example.
Canham is interesting. Oregon State has a great program but them not having a conference home is going to hurt them financially.

You guys should just roll the dice and hire Brad Neffendorf from LSU-Shreveport on the cheap and see what happens.

Before anyone freaks out, the Oregon State head coach wasnt the coach when they beat Arkansas for the natty and started a pedophile pitcher.
Out of all those, Skip Johnson feels the most “Mississippi State”.

I agree. The AD is an Oklahoma guy so he'll definitely see if there is interest.
Now, last time we had a coaching search, there was a nice list like this and we ended up with a Big Ten coach no one had heard of.

Both Johnson's are good coaches. I'd be surprised if either leaves their programs unless there is State or geographic connection.

Would wager the only place Wes leaves Athens for is Fayetteville

Don't disagree with that. This is simply a beat writer's list.

I say go get Mingione
He has a pretty decent buyout after the CWS appearance last season. $1.4 million a season through 2029 for that contract.

A lot of these feel like lateral moves or even a step down.

State has the best ballpark in the country and probably the second best fan following behind LSU. In no universe would any of these mentioned be lateral or a step down to go to state

By example, would a coach rather be at Chapel Hill making more money or Starkville, Mississippi making less. I know they have good fans but, it's Starkville.

UNC might be a tough pull, but I don’t think any of the others are. State is a premier baseball program in every way. I honestly think the Duke coach would be a great pull out of all those

Skip Johnson is a National Treasure! Dude is hilarious and pretty good coach I would hate to lose him.

If we pulled him from Chapel Hill, we'd have to pay north of $2 million.
The whole "living in Starkville" thing is outdated and lazy, especially when you are making seven figures. But yeah you got to sell the wife on it.

Most on the list would be hard to get IMO. Georgia will probably pay to keep Wes. Oregon St coach would probably leave a school with no conference affiliation for the SEC. I just don’t know much about him.

I could see Johnson going to Miss St
OU baseball is way behind on facilities and going to Mississippi State would be a massive upgrade
Not to mention, Softball interest dwarfs baseball

Went to State LSU series at the Dude last year. I was pretty shocked at how many empty seats there were in the grandstands. Probably 7K actual attendance for tge Saturday game
