So, the horn beat reporters at 247 and I think On3 mentioned that a reason horn didn’t go after Wade is because the conference doesn’t want him back at any SEC school.

Now, I’m not trolling horn, this came from their beat reporters on why Wade wasn’t gone after, but you guys think this is true??

I don’t think anyone should gaf if Sankey wants Wade or doesn’t want Wade at any of our schools.

At this point, I expect Texas to go after Pitino just to spite Arkansas.

Then we have to listen to this BS Cal vs Pitino talk twice a year till the end of time.

If Wade got blacklisted by Sankey…He must walk in exile now for at least 4-6 years I guess.

Pawl asked Sankey a question on his show a while back, I think regarding Freeze, about his input power concerning who SEC schools hire. He was pretty emphatic that they will only provide information to help the schools make the best decision possible but by no means did he have any control over that.

I don't think the conference tells schools whom they can and can’t hire.

That’s the thing. I don’t know if the beat writers are just kinda BSing to not catch heat for letting Wade walk, or they were honestly told by the conference, not Wade.

I hope he's the next coach at Arkansas

If Freeze can be employed by an SEC team, so can Wade. They just didn’t want him. Dude will have a great future in NC

Pitino would turn you all into a killer, like he does pretty much every where he goes.

I kinda wished we'd rehired him for the remainder of his career because it would've been funny to have things come full circle

This was the rumor during our search last year as well. No clue if there was any substance to it though or if it was just message board rumor mill.

I really wanted either Beard or Wade last year. I think there’s some truth to the conference either blacklisting Wade or telling whatever school hires him they’ll be under a microscope.

But I doubt that will be permanent. It sucks because we’ll probably still have Cal whenever the conference relents and an SEC school hires him.

Pitino isn't leaving St. John's. This is his last pit stop on a hall of fame career.

Exactly...he's a New Yorker.. he has the love from the largest TV market in USA. He has billionaires, as in plural with dough helping, family, friends.

I'm happy for him. I still can't believe he coached Louisville and Kentucky,, 2 of the best fan bases in the most rabid Basketball state in the Union.

That must have been cray cray.

They may have blackballed him, but there's no way to really know. I think Wade made the better decision going with NCSU, anyway. That conference is down. He can probably compete with Duke right out of the gate if he can get his roster right. He'd have a whole lot tougher row in the SEC, or at least it appears that way at this point in time.

Pitino took the Louisville job because he loved his time at Kentucky so much. He was going to take the Louisville job or Michigan. I don't know how the hell he didn't think he'd get the reaction he got from us for taking the Louisville job.

What's funny is now he is back in the good graces of Big Blue Nation, and Calipari is the former coach who is reviled.
