Weighted Runs Created (wRC) is an improved version of Bill James’ Runs Created (RC) statistic, which attempted to quantify a player’s total offensive value and measure it by runs. In Runs Created, instead of looking at a player’s line and listing out all the details (e.g. 23 2B, 15 HR, 55 BB, 110 K, 19 SB, 5 CS), the information is synthesized into one metric in order to say, “Player X was worth 24 runs to his team last year.” wRC+ is park and league-adjusted, allowing one to to compare players who played in different years, parks, and leagues.

If you’ve looking to measure a batter’s value using a cumulative statistic that credits a player for total production rather than on an at bat by at bat basis, then wRC is extremely useful. It combines the virtues of a weighted statistic like wOBA, which credits a hitter for how valuable each particular action truly is, with the virtues of counting stats that give players credit for producing at a given level over a great number of plate appearances.

Ratings - wRC+
Excellent - 160
Great - 140
Above Average - 115
Average- 100
Below Average - 80
Poor - 75
Awful - 60

A blatantly obvious tactic to not include Ryan Black, who has a +158 wRC over 36 plate appearances.

That min 40 saved Michael Braswell

This is the story of 2025 A&M

2024: .335 / .418 / .498 / .916 108 wRC+
2025: .175/ .267 / .325 / .592 34 wRC+

Its across the board. I think Kent is the only player who's improved at the plate.

I've been told that Gavin Kilen and Levi Clark suck and won't hit SEC pitching

I like this kid a lot but he's currently rocking a .556 BABIP so I'd imagine things might chill out a bit soon

The Aloy kid from Arkansas is hitting .556 with a BABIP of .647. Great hitter, but regression monster is absolutely coming for him.

Boy the boomers that hate fancy stats have attacked this thread with a vengeance with their mighty down votes!

It's as if you hired a coach who had no business getting the job solely to retain players from a team that choked away their only natty appearance

Braswell is the 3rd best 3B on the team and will be retired completely soon.

LaVoilette hitting .243...?

Smell ya, draft stock.

I'm not really one to overreact but not really seeing it from this LSU team yet.

They're good but not elite so far.

Richie has been a great addition to the team this season, also adds speed to the top of the order.

...LSU has 7 starters hitting over .320

They're the only team that can say that and have played the most difficult schedule of any SEC team so far.

Based on beating the piss out of a ranked DBU in Arlington who just run ruled #13 Oklahoma and a win over K-State in Frisco who had just beaten ranked Arkansas and TCU...?

That doesn't mean we've played the most difficult schedule.

Look, I'm not saying the team is bad, just saying they haven't really lived up to the expectations yet.

This was supposed to be one of the best pitching staffs ever assembled at LSU and the lineup has struggled at times against suspect pitching.

We've almost reached the 25% mark of the regular season, just my thoughts after watching the games.

For sure, and it seems like Jay usually has the team playing their best ball late in the season.

So LSU has played the 15th worst non-conference schedule to date in the SEC(granted these numbers don't matter much and will even out later on)

3. Florida 49
4. Oklahoma 53
5. Miss St 94
6. Texas A&M 98
7. Tennessee 113
8. Ole Miss 115
9. SCarolina 116
10. Arkansas 124
11. Georgia 125
12. Texas 141
13. Alabama 172
14. Missouri 232
15. LSU 235
