100+ in five games, 94+ points in 8/15 games, scored at least 80 in 14/15 games. Scored at least 85 in every road game this year. I say yes. That show tonight was breathtaking. Better offense than the 96 Kentucky team (only score 100+ three times), and the early 90's Arkansas teams. They do with efficiency. Should have dropped 100+ on Kentucky and Mizzou.

I mean, statistically they're not even the best or most efficient offense in the SEC this season.

But, yes......when they're hot they are incredibly difficult to beat, especially if a team struggles to guard the perimeter.

If I know IF...Bama had a healthy Latrell Wrightsell they might have won a couple more.

So nothing anyone ever does in college basketball is worth anything unless they win the basketball tournament in March?

Maybe!

But, there’s never been a greater disparity in SEC history between a teams offensive and defensive ranking.

1996 Kentucky team was a very good defensive team. Forced lots of turnovers as did Nolan Richardsons teams at Arkansas.

Different era. They would eat the lunch of today’s teams. Teams that played together multiple years and had grown men playing.

Not even shooting someone or hand delivering a gun, knowing what the intent was.

I'd rather have a top 10 offense coupled with a top 10 defense.

But, it is admittedly fun to watch when it's in full speed and the shots are falling

There was a much greater disparity with us last year.

2024

Defense - #43 (0.98)

2021 LSU - #5 offense, #124 defense (119 spot diff)
2024 Alabama - #2 offense, #111 defense (109 spot diff)
2024 Kentucky - #7 offense, #109 defense (102 spot diff)
2022 LSU - #89 offense, #6 defense (83 spot diff)
2024 Florida - #12 offense, #94 defense (82 spot diff)
2021 Tennessee - #85 offense, #5 defense (80 spot diff)
2022 Alabama - #16 offense, #92 defense (76 spot diff)
2023 Tennessee - #64 offense, #1 defense (63 spot diff)
2025 Kentucky - #5 offense, #61 defense (56 spot diff)

I think Auburn is actually the one with the historic offense when it comes to efficiency. Alabama plays at a fast pace which allows for more possessions for them and their opponents.

They're currently pretty close to eachother but Auburn is at the top. They've cooled the last 3 weeks from their historical pace, though. Still very good. 4 of the top 5 are in the SEC.

1. Auburn (1.297)
2. Duke (1.286)
3. Alabama (1.278)
4. Florida (1.266)
5. Kentucky (1.260)

And that doesn't include Missouri who has been the best offense in the SEC analytically since February 1st.

Since Feb 1
1. Duke (1.382)
2. Missouri (1.368)
3. Alabama (1.341)
4. Utah State (1.303)
5. Auburn (1.296)

Good point. I didn't realize it had tightened that much.
